A few days ago, I heard an interesting story from my friend β Zaza Shengelia, the founder of Bravo Records.
I later checked it with partners in Ghana⦠and the reality turned out to be even more fascinating.
Many people believe that Stevie Wonder was born in Ghana.
π He wasnβt.
But in 2021, he made a powerful decision β he became a citizen of Ghana.
Why would a global music legend take such a step?
Because Ghana today is not just a country β it is one of Africaβs most stable, culturally rich, and fast-rising hubs.
A place where music is not just entertainment⦠but identity.
Stevie called it βa return to my roots.β
And perhaps that says everything.
While he hasnβt officially founded a music academy there (yet), his vision is clear:
Ghana has the potential to become a global center of African music.
As an Honorary Consul of Ghana in Georgia, this story resonates with me on a deeper level.
It reminds us that culture, music, and human connection often go further than politics ever can.
πΆ Sometimes, the journey back to your roots doesnβt start with geographyβ¦
it starts with a decision.
