The Comptroller-General of Immigration (CGI), Mr Kwame Asuah Takyi (Esq) together with some members of Management of the Ghana Immigration Service has commiserated with the family of the late Assistant Inspector Philip Motey, the Officer who lost his life in the unfortunate shooting attack at Bawku on Monday, 3rd April, 2023.
The CGI condemned the attack in no uncertain terms and assured the family that the Service was collaborating with other State agencies to investigate it.
Speaking on the sides of the visit, Head of Public Affairs, Chief Superintendent Michael Amoako-Atta implored the public to lend Officers their utmost support considering that they risk their lives daily to keep the country safe.

Some Officers of the Ghana Immigration Service have been taken through a day's workshop on Anti-Money Laundering, Terrorism financing, Cyber Security and other related issues by the Financial Intelligence Centre at the National Headquarters in Accra.
The forum was organized to enhance the skills of Officers in identifying and combating technological related offences and cross border crimes that Officers may encounter in line of duty at Ghana's entry and exit points.

Mr. Kwame Asuah Takyi, Comptroller General of the Ghana Immigration Service, received a delegation from the International Organization for Migration today (IOM). The group was led by Ms. Abibatou Wane Fall, Chief of Mission, which included Daniel Tagoe, a national project officer, as well as Nnamdi Iwuora, Senior Programs Manager. Some designated GIS officers, including the Deputy Commissioner in charge of operations, Mr. Isaac Luortey, ACI Amponsah, the Head of the Intelligence Section, The Chief Staff Officer Lawrence Agyei Agyapong, and the Head of Policy Planning, Evaluation and Monitoring Department (PPMED), Mr. Thomas Ewuntomah, were present to deliberate on joint projects and pending developments between the service and IOM.
A copy of the GIS quarterly magazine, which includes certain collaborative activities of the two organizations, was given as a souvenir by the CGI to the IOM delegation.

Earlier today at the "one-week" commemoration on the demise of former Chief Fire Officer, Mr. Edwin Ekow Blankson, the CGI delegated DCGI/F&A Mr. Isaac Owusu Mensah, some management members, and selected Officers to commiserate with the family and the GNFS.
