The Government of The Republic Of Ghana🇬🇭 His Excellency John Dramani Mahama has endorses the protocol enlistment into the Ghana🇬🇭 Armed Forces.
The Ghana🇬🇭 Armed Forces (GAF) is a unified armed forces in Ghana🇬🇭 consisting of Ghana🇬🇭 Army Force(GAF), Ghana🇬🇭 Navy Force(GNF) and Ghana🇬🇭 Air Force(GAF). The service is supervised by the Ghanaian ministry of defense.
The commander in Chief of the Ghana🇬🇭 Armed Forces is the President of Ghana🇬🇭, who is also the supreme military commander of the President Own Guard REGIMENT(POGR) and of the Border Guard Unit (BGU). The supervision of the Ghana🇬🇭 Armed Forces (GAF) is managed by the Minister of Defense and the Chief of Defense Staff.

At IMDEC 2025, President John Dramani Mahama, represented by Chief of Staff Hon. Julius Debrah, reaffirmed Ghana’s bold maritime vision: focusing on regional security, economic growth, and innovation through the blue economy.

“The blue economy is our next frontier,” he declared, calling for strategic investments, international cooperation, and enhanced naval capacity to protect and develop Ghana’s waters.

Mahama’s message: Ghana is ready to lead in maritime security and blue economy development across West Africa.

President of the Republic and Commander in Chief (C-in-C) of the Ghana Armed Forces, His Excellency (HE) John Dramani Mahama, has joined the maiden edition of the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving at the State House, Accra on Tuesday 1 July 2025.

C-in-C reminded the nation of the need to acknowledge and offer praise and gratitude to God for the safety and prosperity of the nation. He reaffirmed the need to trust the Almighty God for his continual protection and safety.

“Every peaceful sunrise, every child who is safely born, every harvest, every healing, every quiet moment of joy and every act of kindness in our land, it's not by our strength alone”, he stated
The President said public office, including that of the president, is not a privilege for personal gain but an office grounded in justice, loyalty, and honesty. He implored all and sundry to work with diligence and honesty to help propel the nation to higher heights with the help of God.

In a sermon, the Chancellor of the Pontifical Academies of Sciences, Cardinal Peter Kodwo Appiah Turkson called on Ghanaians to embrace a renewed sense of patriotism and civic duty. He stated that the theme for the celebration was a call to moral clarity, national courage and spiritual awakening for fashioning a Ghana of opportunities for the inclusive well-being of all.

The event, under the theme “Reflect, Reset, and Renew for National Prosperity”, brought together leaders of various faiths, political figures, traditional leaders and a cross section of the public in a moment of spiritual reflection and national purpose to pray for a renewed mindset for a better Ghana.

The United Nations Interim Force for Abyei has held a joint parade to commemorate Ghana’s Independence anniversary and a medal presentation ceremony.
The Reviewing Officer for the parade was the Acting Head of Mission/Force Commander, Major General Robert Yaw Affram. He commended the battalion for their commendable efforts in restoring and maintaining peace in Sector South of Abeyi.
