At the Ghana Venture Capital and Private Equity Association Annual Industry Conference 2026, our CEO, Michael Abbey, Esq., delivered remarks on a structural challenge within Ghana’s investment ecosystem: a crisis of confidence between capital and enterprise.
With significant pools of domestic capital available, the priority is no longer access, but trust, built through strong investment structures, credible deal ex*****on, and consistent returns to unlock capital for productive investment.
VCTF continues to play a catalytic role in bridging this gap and strengthening Ghana’s private capital ecosystem.

We engaged with the team at the Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST), alongside the UNICEF StartUp Lab and AI StartUp Programme cohorts, led by our CEO, Michael Abbey.
The engagement reaffirmed our belief in the potential of Ghana’s emerging technology entrepreneurs and explored opportunities for collaboration as we prepare to roll out the Technology Innovation Fund under the Ghana Digital Acceleration Project (GDAP), funded by IFC in partnership with the Ministry of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations.
Strengthening the link between innovation and capital remains critical to building a pipeline of scalable, high-growth businesses in Ghana.
