NATIONAL COMMISSION ON CULTURE AND AYAPREP GHANA FORM STRATEGIC ALLIANCE TO ADVANCE EDUCATION

The National Commission on Culture (NCC), led by its Executive Director, Mr. Wakefield Ackuaku, has entered into a strategic partnership with AyaPrep Ghana to promote education through cultural integration and the use of indigenous languages.

Speaking at the signing ceremony held at the NCC, Mr. Ackuaku welcomed stakeholders and reaffirmed the Commission’s statutory mandate to safeguard and promote Ghana’s cultural heritage as a foundation for national development. He noted that AyaPrep Ghana’s proposal came at a critical time, when challenges in language-inclusive education and learning outcomes, particularly in mathematics, remain significant.

He described the partnership as timely and impactful, highlighting AyaPrep Ghana’s innovative approach of teaching mathematics through local languages to improve understanding, confidence, and performance.

After due diligence, the Commission expressed satisfaction with the credibility and relevance of the initiative and pledged to mobilize strategic partners to support its national rollout.

A testimonial shared during the ceremony illustrated the effectiveness of the approach, recounting how a student’s performance in mathematics improved significantly after being taught using indigenous languages.

The Research Partnership Manager of AyaPrep Ghana, Dr. Akua Campbell, expressed appreciation for the Commission’s support, noting that the partnership aligns strongly with the NCC’s mandate. She emphasized that the initiative aims to teach learners in familiar languages while elevating the status of Ghanaian languages in education.

The ceremony concluded with the formal signing of the partnership agreement, sealing a collaboration both institutions believe will strengthen Ghana’s educational and cultural development.
