Happy Easter to us all.

March was a productive and blessed month, filled with milestones, including the 69th Independence Anniversary of our beautiful country and my birthday.

I used the opportunity to inaugurate two medical facilities for the people of Asukawkaw and its adjoining communities in the Oti Region, and in Anyima in the Bono East Region.

These facilities, in furtherance of my organisation, the Lordina Foundation’s objectives, will bring quality healthcare closer to the people. The greatest impact, however, will be a reduction in maternal and infant mortality cases in these communities and others we have supported with newly built facilities and fully equipped.

Also in March, I joined a club of First Spouses to attend the "Fostering the Future Together Global Coalition Summit in Washington, D.C., an event dedicated to promoting child online safety campaigns.

And ahead of the Easter festivities, my office and the Lordina Foundation presented our Easter donations to orphanages in Tamale, Techiman, and Accra. We also extended support, as always, to the Gambaga witches’ camp.

Enjoy the Easter and may God continue to bless us all.

I joined the US First Lady, Melania Trump, and fellow first spouses at the Fostering the Future Together Global Coalition Summit in Washington, D.C. this week.

On behalf of the Organisation of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD), I am grateful to Mrs Trump for convening this crucial gathering to discuss our commitments to protecting children in our increasingly digital world.

As I shared at the summit, technology presents both extraordinary opportunities and significant risks for our young people. Our children belong to a generation armed with tools that earlier generations could hardly have imagined— smartphones that serve as classrooms, business platforms, creative studios, and gateways to the global economy.

Without proper guidance, however, technology poses serious dangers. Research shows that one in five young victims of cyberbullying stays away from school.

In Ghana, we are responding with the ‘Safer Digital Ghana' campaign, stronger legislative frameworks, school-based digital literacy programmes, and partnerships with companies like Meta and Google.

I am committed to helping protect our children's digital future, ensuring that technology empowers rather than endangers the next generation.

What a meaningful way to celebrate life and purpose. Before my birthday on 6th March, I marked it by inaugurating a maternity and children’s ward in Asukawkaw in the Dambai East Constituency of the Oti Region, the fifth such facility funded by the Lordina Foundation.

Eight days after my birthday, on 14th March, I had the joy of commissioning our sixth project, the renovated and expanded Anyima Health Centre in the Bono East Region.

Two facilities commissioned, two communities transformed, and countless lives were saved.

This is how we celebrate life: by ensuring mothers come home safely with their babies and by bringing quality healthcare to every corner of Ghana.

The Anyima Health Centre holds a special place in my heart, not just because it's located in my home area near Jema, Ampoma, where my late mother was from, but also because it embodies what birthdays truly mean- celebrating life by giving it to others.

This fully equipped facility will serve over 3,000 people with:
- Delivery rooms & labour wards
- Children's ward & emergency room
- Modern medical equipment, including infant incubators
- Ultrasound systems & neonatal care equipment, among others.

There is no greater gift than life and health for our people and communities.

As we observe International Women's Day 2026, I encourage every Ghanaian to reflect on what you will Give to Gain gender equality.

Will you mentor a young woman starting her own business? Will you advocate for your daughter's education as passionately as you do for your son's? Will you support policies that promote equal opportunities in your workplace and community?

Always remember that investing in women brings benefits. When women succeed, families flourish, communities thrive, and the nation advances.

I am reminded of the profound Akan proverb: "Se wo were fi na wosan kofa a yenkyiri"; when you forget something and go back for it, it is not forbidden.

Together, we must go back and lift every woman and girl we may have left behind, for in their rise, Ghana rises. When we provide opportunities for our market women in Makola, mentorship for our young tech entrepreneurs in Accra, or training for our shea butter producers in the Northern Region, we don't diminish our resources—we multiply our nation's prosperity.

I am proud of the progress our country has achieved, including increased interest in and enrollment of girls in STEM education, support for women farmers through cooperative strengthening, and the rise of more women leaders in district assemblies, the corporate sector, and boardrooms.

Yet there is still more to be done. Many talented girls continue to drop out of school, capable women still lack access to funding, and many voices are still missing from decision-making processes.

The Affirmative Action Act has created opportunities, and initiatives such as the Women's Development Bank by the Mahama administration will support thousands of female entrepreneurs across our country.

Our mothers and grandmothers gave us rich traditions of communal support through "nnoboa" and "susu". We must channel that same spirit toward achieving true gender equality.

Give to Gain!
God bless our homeland, Ghana!

I accompanied my husband, President John Dramani Mahama, in hosting Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew of St. Kitts and Nevis and his wife to an official luncheon at the Presidency during his official visit to Ghana.

Before lunch, Mrs Diani Jimesha Prince-Drew, and I had a conversation that covered, among other topics, the history of St. Kitts and Nevis as well as Ghana’s relations with Caribbean nations. We also explored the similarities in our cultures, peoples, and development paradigms.

I addressed my fellow First Ladies at the 30th OAFLAD Summit in Addis Ababa today, indicating that I am fully committed to supporting OAFLAD's Campaign, with a special focus on access to health, education and women’s empowerment.

When women and children are healthy, families are stronger and nations thrive. Among others, the Lordina Foundation provides free health screenings and treatment to thousands of women, children, and the elderly, and has built three modern maternity and children's wards at Bole District Hospital, Nkoranza Municipal Hospital, and Bodom Health Centre, with another facility nearing completion in Asukawkaw.

Looking ahead to 2026, we will continue to empower women in small and medium-sized businesses, aligning with government initiatives, including the 24-Hour Economy and the new Women's Development Bank. When we empower a woman economically, we empower an entire family and uplift an entire community.

Because education unlocks potential, we are proudly supporting 40 underprivileged JHS girls through the Merck Foundation 'Educating Linda' Scholarship Programme. Every girl we support becomes a leader, a change-maker, and a nation-builder.

The 30th Ordinary Assembly of our organisation, OAFLAD, opened this morning in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Our theme is "Building Resilience", which is especially significant as we discuss strategies to strengthen our communities across the continent in the face of current global challenges.

It was yet another platform to engage with and exchange ideas with colleague first ladies during our technical session, sharing experiences and best practices to advance the welfare of women, children, and communities across Africa.
