RELAUNCH OF NATIONAL SANITATION DAY UNDER CLEAN GHANA AGENDA
Yesterday, I had the honour of leading a powerful cleanup exercise across the Nii Ankraman Electoral Area, as part of the relaunch of National Sanitation Day under the Clean Ghana Agenda—an initiative spearheaded by President John Dramani Mahama, who formally relaunched the campaign yesterday to re-energize national efforts toward a cleaner Ghana.
Together with the dedicated staff of the Ga North Municipal Assembly (GNMA) and the diligent Assembly Member for the Nii Ankraman Electoral Area, Hon. Richard Osei, we rolled up our sleeves and worked alongside community members to restore order and cleanliness in our neighbourhoods.
This exercise was not just about sweeping and desilting; it was a bold reminder that sanitation is everyone's responsibility. A cleaner environment leads to healthier families, safer communities, and a brighter future for Ga North.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to President Mahama for his leadership, to Hon. Richard Osei for his unwavering support, and to the GNMA team and community volunteers who turned out in impressive numbers. Together, we’ve shown that discipline, unity, and action can drive real change.
Let us keep this momentum going. Sanitation must become a lifestyle, not just a monthly event.

TOGETHER WITH OUR TRANSPORT UNION MEMBERS, WE DISCUSSED THE FUTURE OF TRANSPORT IN GA NORTH
On Friday, 5th September 2025, I had the honour of meeting with members of the transport unions across the Ga North Municipality, alongside the Urban Roads & Transport Department of the Assembly, to deliberate on issues central to our transport sector.
The engagement provided an open platform to discuss the welfare of drivers, the current state of our roads, and the Assembly’s plans for improvements. We also highlighted roads that require central government support, while outlining ongoing and upcoming interventions by the Assembly to ease transport challenges in our municipality.
I emphasized to members that while some of these initiatives may seem challenging at first, they are ultimately designed to serve the best interests of transport operators, passengers, and the wider community. In the long run, these measures will contribute to a more reliable, efficient, and safe transport system for Ga North.
This meeting reflects our commitment to inclusive governance—bringing everyone to the table, listening to concerns, and working together on lasting solutions.
I sincerely appreciate the active participation and contributions of all the transport union members. Together, we are charting a path toward better roads, stronger transport systems, and a brighter future for Ga North. 🚍🛣️🤝

OF RENOVATED TOILET FACILITY AT AYAWASO QUARRY M/A BASIC SCHOOL
Today, I joined the Ga North Municipal Education Directorate, the African School Sanitation Foundation, and community leaders to commission a renovated toilet facility at Ayawaso Quarry M/A Basic School, graciously provided by ICUMS (Integrated Customs Management System).
This intervention is more than infrastructure — it is an investment in the dignity, health, and future of our children. Proper sanitation in schools encourages regular attendance, particularly for our young girls, and directly supports girl-child education.
I commend ICUMS (Integrated Customs Management System) for funding this important facility and also appreciate the African School Sanitation Foundation for spearheading the initiative. Together, you have shown how strong partnerships can transform our schools.
As an Assembly, we will continue to champion sanitation as a pillar for quality education across Ga North.

MY VISIT TO OFANKOR M/A SCHOOL ON THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
On Tuesday, 2nd September 2025, I had the privilege of visiting the Ofankor M/A School to welcome our children back on their first day of the new academic year. I was joined by the Municipal Director of Education and a few dedicated staff of the Ga North Municipal Assembly, who shared in this important exercise.
It was truly heartwarming to see the smiles, energy, and eagerness on the faces of these young ones. I interacted with them, encouraged them to take their studies seriously, and reminded them that with discipline, hard work, and determination, they can rise to become the great leaders of tomorrow.
As part of the visit, I also presented some learning materials to pupils as a gesture of support and motivation — reaffirming our Assembly’s commitment to investing in education and providing the tools needed to inspire success.
I also took time to interact with the teachers, appreciating their dedication and encouraging them to continue the good work of shaping the future of our municipality through education.
“Every child in Ga North deserves the chance to learn and succeed. Their education is our greatest investment, and their success will be the success of our entire municipality.”
I am proud of our pupils and grateful to the Director of Education, the teachers, and the staff who accompanied me during the visit. Together, we will keep investing in the future of our children, because their success is the success of our municipality.

WORKING WITH ECG TO RESTORE LIGHTS IN GA NORTH
Yesterday, I visited the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) station at Amasaman to engage them on the challenge with our streetlights, especially around the Pokuase Interchange and along the Pokuase–Awoshie stretch.
The situation was traced to a blown transformer that powers the lights in these areas. I am encouraged to share that ECG has assured me the issue will be fixed so that our streets can light up once again.
Street lighting is not just about visibility — it is about safety, security, and peace of mind for residents and road users. I remain committed to working with ECG and all partners to make Ga North a brighter and safer municipality for everyone.
