Allied Health Workers In Kintampo To Picket At Flagstaff Houses
Updated on 06-Jun-2016
Over 500 unemployed graduates of the Kintampo College of Health are accusing government of discrimination in the recruitment of health professionals in the country.
The accusation of the Allied Health Workers comes after government ordered for the recruitment of over 3000 unemployed nurses and midwives into the various health facilities after they protested.
The Kintampo trainees claim government excluded them from the recruitment even though they had also been trained and were waiting for placement.
Some of the angry nurses said they will embark on a street protest if government does not come to their aid.
“We are also health workers so why have we been left out of the placement? It is unfair to us. We completed long before these new ones came out but they have been placed and we are still at home, starving with our families.
“It is not right. We are pleading with government to come to our aid or they will hear of us on the streets,” they lamented.
