GIPC CEO, Mr Simon Madjie, participated in the Ghana Diaspora Townhall Meeting held in London.
He joined President John Dramani Mahama, the Minister for Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, the Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Hon Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon James Gyakye Quayson, and other dignitaries, alongside members of the Ghanaian diaspora.
The discussions, led at the highest level of government engagement, highlighted Ghana’s strong economic recovery, with growth of about 6% in 2025, ongoing governance reforms, and the critical role of the diaspora in driving investment and development.
President John Dramani Mahama reaffirmed government’s commitment to deeper diaspora engagement, describing Ghanaians abroad as the nation’s “17th Region,” while also emphasizing that the newly passed GIPA Bill will help attract more foreign direct investment and further improve Ghana’s business environment.
The meeting reinforced Ghana’s commitment to economic transformation, investment promotion, and stronger partnerships with the diaspora.
