The final session of the four-day leadership training programme focused on reflections and discussions, led by National Conference of State Legislatures CEO, Tim Storey, during which participants revisited key lessons and shared insights gained throughout the week-long engagement.
The programme concluded with a closing ceremony marked by the presentation of certificates to participants in recognition of their successful participation.
Delivering the closing remarks, Mad. Cornelia Akumpule and Dr. Ernest Darfour, speaking on behalf of the Clerk to Parliament, expressed appreciation to participants for their cooperation and active engagement throughout the programme. They encouraged participants to apply the knowledge, leadership values and professional competencies acquired to enhance effectiveness within their respective work environments.

Day three of the leadership and management training programme featured a session on “performance management in a legislative environment”, facilitated by Natalie Wood, Vice President, NCSL, which focused on strategies for improving effectiveness and accountability within parliamentary institutions.
Another presentation on creating a positive workplace culture was led by Curt Stedron, Director, Legislative Training Institute, National Conference of State Legislatures, offering practical insights into fostering collaboration, professionalism and a productive work environment.
The day concluded with a session on leadership versus management facilitated by Tim Storey, CEO, National Conference of State Legislatures, which highlighted the distinctions between leading people and managing systems for institutional success.

Day two of the leadership and management training programme commenced with a session on “Dealing with difficult stakeholders” facilitated by Curt Stedron. The session focused on practical approaches to managing challenging relationships and navigating complex workplace interactions.
This was followed by a joint session on “Effective Communication” led by Stacy Householder and Natalie Wood, Vice President, National Conference of State Legislatures.
Participants described the sessions as practical, engaging and insightful, with lessons aimed at strengthening leadership and communication skills.

The PTI, in collaboration with the National Conference of State Legislatures, has commenced a four-day leadership and management training programme for newly appointed Deputy Directors of the Parliamentary Service.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Clerk to Parliament, Mr. Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, encouraged participants to fully engage in the sessions to strengthen their professional competencies and leadership skills.
The training began with a “Great Managers Workshop” facilitated by Stacy Householder, followed by a session on “Finding Resiliency During Challenging Times” led by Curt Stedron.

The final day of the Senior Management Development Programme commenced with a session on “Overview of the Corporate Strategic Plan of Parliament,” facilitated by Mr. Mohammed Nyagsi.
This was followed by a presentation on “Strategic Planning, Institutional Alignment and Policy Coherence in Parliamentary Administration” led by Dr. Jeff Bassay.
The final session was facilitated by Maame Akua Gaisey on “Communicating and Implementing the Corporate Strategic Plan of Parliament,” where participants discussed effective strategies for institutional communication and implementation.
Delivering the closing remarks, the Clerk to Parliament, Mr. Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, expressed appreciation to participants for their active participation and commitment to enhancing their competencies through the programme.
Participants also commended the Parliamentary Training Institute for its pivotal role in organizing the programme and strengthening capacity within the Parliamentary Service.

The first session of Day Three of the Senior Management Development Programme was facilitated by Dr. Nicholas Ayamga, Director, Performance, Monitoring and Evaluation of the parliamentary service on “Performance Management and Results-Based Accountability in the Parliamentary Service.”
The second session was led by Mr. Justice Awuku-Sao, Corporate Governance Expert and a distinguished fellow of the Institute of Directors-Ghana, on “Corporate Governance, Ethics and Board Dynamics,” where participants explored principles of accountability, ethical leadership, and effective governance within institutions.
