At a validation workshop held on 21st February, 2023 at the AH Hotel in Ghana, our lead consultant Rita Owusu Amankwah presented the findings of a research conducted on child labor in mining and Child Labour Eradication Framework meant to reduce child labor in the mining sector by 50% in Ghana. This framework was developed at the instance of the Minerals Commission in Ghana and sponsored by Solidaridad West Africa under the RECLAIM Sustainability! Project. The validation workshop was attended by key mining industry players.
This Framework will serve as a policy tool for the Minerals Commission and Mining sector players including subnational agencies and communities.

SED Consult has successfully conducted a study titled “Description and Assessment of Existing Monitoring and Response Systems for Child Labour of Kuapa Kokoo Farmers Union”.
The study assessed the monitoring and response systems utilized by Kuapa Kokoo Cooperative Cocoa Farmers and Marketing Union Limited (KKFU) on its member farmers as a certified producer organization of Fairtrade in addressing child labour in their respective societies. SED Consult was engaged by Fairtrade International and Fairtrade Africa to conduct this study. Other partners engaged in the research process were Fairtrade Africa (FTA), Fairtrade International (FTI), HALBA, KKFU National and District operatives.

The World University Service of Canada (WUSC) has contracted SED Consult to conduct a Midterm review of the INVEST Project. The ‘Innovation in Non-traditional Vocational Education and Skills Training (INVEST)’ project aimed at building sustainable pathways to enhanced economic empowerment, well-being and inclusive growth for urban young women living in poverty. The Mid-Term Review (MTR) will look at the INVEST project since its inception in August 2020 to date. It will primarily focus on the output and immediate outcome results of the project. The MTR will include a gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) analysis.

The week of 18th-25th January 2020 is recognised annually by development practitioners across the globe as the Global Week of Action on Inequality ( ). The Ghana CSOs Platform on the SDGs in partnership with SED Consult and support from Oxfam Ghana implemented series of activities to mark the week, from 20th to 24th January, 2020.
