Sanitation Day To Be Observed In Agona West

On Monday, 11th May 2026, the Municipal Assembly held its first town hall meeting for the year at the Swedru Town Hall.

The purpose of the meeting was to account to the good people of the Agona West Municipality for the funds at the disposal of the Municipal Assembly.

I used the opportunity to outline to participants the projects being undertaken by the Municipal Assembly, as well as the challenges confronting us.

The Agona West Municipal Assembly remains committed to transparency, accountability, and probity, and we will continue to work tirelessly to enhance the development of the Municipality.

On Friday, 8th May 2026, the Management of the Municipal Assembly, Nana Nyarko Eku X, President of the Nyakrom Traditional Council, and Nana Kweku Essieni V, Regent of Agona Swedru, engaged the leadership of the Garages Association on their relocation to the Artisan Village.

After a fruitful discussion, the Garages Association promised to relocate to the Village by the end of 2026.

I would like to reiterate that the Municipal Assembly will continue its engagement with the Association to ensure their relocation.

Yesterday, together with some staff of the Municipal Assembly, we embarked on a visit to several examination centers across the Municipality to wish our candidates success in their ongoing BECE.

I took the opportunity to encourage the students to remain confident, stay focused, and approach their papers with courage, putting aside any fear as they strive for excellence.

Visits to the remaining centers will continue in due course.

On Sunday, 26th April 2026, I joined the Emmanuel Assembly of the Assemblies of God Church, Nsusososo, as they climaxed their 25th anniversary celebration.

I used the opportunity to encourage the congregation to support the development of the Municipality and the nation as a whole by honoring their tax obligations.

I also presented a token of support on behalf of the Municipal Assembly and the Member of Parliament towards the celebration.

Today, I commenced the distribution of sanitary pads to young girls in selected schools across the Municipality. This initiative is part of the Government’s ongoing efforts to ensure that no girl is deprived of education due to her monthly menstrual cycle. It reflects our commitment to promoting dignity, confidence, and equal opportunities for every girl-child.

Yesterday, I had the honor of accompanying the Member of Parliament, Hon. Ernestina Ofori-Dangbey, to cut sod for the construction of a 50-bed maternity ward at the Swedru Municipal Hospital.

When completed, this important project will significantly improve the delivery of quality healthcare services across the Municipality, especially for mothers and newborns.

I remain committed to working closely with the Member of Parliament to drive development and improve the well-being of our people.
