Birim South District Assembly - BSDA

The Birim South District Assembly organized its' monthly Cleanup Exercise today, 8th March , 2026.
In attendance was the Hon. DCE, Assembly Members, Staff, and the citizens of the District.
The Taxi Drivers and Okada Riders Association Members were also in attendance.
Hon. Taaju Abdu Rahim (DCE), the entire Management and Staff of Birim South District Assembly wish to express their gratitude to all those who came to support in diverse ways of this Months' edition of the clean up exercise.
It's our prayer that, we continue to extend this support to our various homes and communities to help make Akim Swedru the cleanest town in Ghana.

GALAMSEY FIGHT!
The District Security Council (DISEC) of Birim South District undertook a joint operation with the Akim Oda Divisional Police Command. The operation was aimed at cracking down on illegal mining activities in the District.

The joint operation which happened on 16th February 2026, was to flush out illegal mining activities whiles ensuring the protection of water bodies, restoring vegetation and protecting the environment at large.
In the process, mining equipment were seized and burnt with some suspected individuals being arrested.

A DAY TRAINING ON THE SMART WORKPLACE™ PORTAL.

The National Information Technology Agency (NITA) in collaboration with eSolutions is rolling out the Smart WorkPlace™ to all Government institutions and Birim South District is no exception.

The Birim South District on 18th November 2025 held a full day training on the Smart WorkPlace™ Portal at the District Assembly's Hall.

The Smart WorkPlace™ Portal is a comprehensive Digital Platform for Virtual workplace. Built on Microsoft Office 365, Smart WorkPlace™ provides staff with a highly efficient working environment characterized by providing a single access point to all resources needed for daily tasks such as Emails, Calendar, Audio and Video Conferencing (Microsoft Teams), Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc) Intranet Portal, Document Management, Correspondence Management, Memo Management, Task Management, Enterprise Search, Announcements, Workflows (Automation of manual processes), application integration etc. required to improve productivity.
This platform gives staff with a secured and role-based access to the right Information Technology (IT) solutions and tools required to work remotely anywhere, anytime on any web enabled device (desktops, laptops, mobile phones, and tablets).

In attendance and in full participation, for this game changer and innovative training were, Hon. Taaju Abdu Rahim (District Chief Executive), Firimin-Roger Nabiebakye, Esq. (Coordinating Director), Facilitators and officers from OHLGS, ERCC and eSolutions, and Staff of Birim South District Assembly.
