Green Ghana Day and World Environment Day.
The program was organised by Mr. Patrick Oppong, CEA Onomabo operational area in collaboration with Callighana and Crop Life in Onomabo. 174 (122 males, 52 females) participants made up of farmers from Nsuafua, Ohiafo, Onomabo and school pupils from Onomabo D/A School attended the program.
The idea of the program was to sensitized farmers to protect the environment. The various activities that are carried out in our farms such as bush burning, indiscriminate cutting of tress, littering around with chemical containers after use and other related acts which has been the habit of our farmers should be ceased as it destroys the environment.
To help mitigate this manace, CalliGhana distributed 500 tree seedlings to farmers to plant in their various farms. Crop Life also provided Onomabo community with a container to collect all used chemicals bottles for recycling.

Today being Green Ghana Day, Mrs. Abigail Agyekum Sakyi, CEA Suponso Operational Area, partnered by Callighana/Crop life and Forestry Commission organised a program to educate farmers on handling of chemicals and the environment in Nyakoma community.
The program was, protecting the environment by proper use of agrochemicals and proper disposal of chemical containers. Farmers are advised to have container house for the containers as Crop Life would come around occasionally for collection.
Lastly, 208 registered Ofram tree seedlings were distributed among 52 framers by the forestry department for farmers to plant as part of the Green Ghana Day. Each farmer received 4 Ofram tree seedlings.
