*DCE OF AFADZATO VISITS TEACHERS DURING CCP CURRICULUM TRAINING AT JIBMASS, LOGBA*

The District Chief Executive of Afadzato South, Hon. James Etornam Flolu made a brief visit today, Friday, 14th January, 2022 to the training of teachers on the implementation of the Common Core Programme (CCP) curriculum organised at JIBMASS, Logba.

The CCP curriculum training workshop which was organised for all JHS teachers across the country ended today, Friday, 14th Jan., 2022 at the various centres across the country.

The CCP curriculum is carefully designed to provide learners in Basic 7 to Basic 9 (JHS 1 – JHS 3) with a holistic learning experience to prepare them for post-secondary education, the world of work, or both.

During his visit, the DCE visited all the nine (9) classes at the training centre to interact with the over 300 participants (JHS teachers). He commended the participants for their commitments during the period and encouraged them to make use of the various skills they have learnt to aid the smooth implementation of the new curriculum for the development of a new crop of citizens.

He further announced to the teachers that, he would initiate an award scheme for the best teacher in the district by close of this year and beyond. He acknowledged teachers’ role in the development of the country and expressed the need for them to be rewarded for their good work. To conclude his visit, he provided refreshment for all participants and the facilitators at the centre.

Railways comes to Afadzato South.

I received a team from the Railway Ministry led by the chief director Mr. Desmond Boateng and the technical advisor to the Minister Mr.Allan Dogah in my office on thursday the 22nd of July, 2021.

The meeting was to discuss the construction of railway lines which will be passing through the Afadzato south district.
The lines will begin from Accra to Paga passing through Kpeve to Koloenu in our district.
This I believe is going to be a major boost in the economic lives of the people.

This project is one of the initiatives of president Nana Akuffo Addo’s government of which Afafdzato south is a beneficiary.
Also in attendance was the District coordinating director in the person of Mr. Fabian Vorvor and the District Engineer Mr Michael Enchil.
