COVID-19 & CORPORATE SOCIAL INITIATIVES IN GHANA
The World Health Organization on March 11, 2020, declared coronavirus (COVID - 19) a global pandemic. The virus which attacks the respiratory system is said to be one of the deadliest the world has witnessed in recent times. Governments and the private sector globally have been collaborating to educate, inform, and reduce the spread of the virus. The President of Ghana, through legislation and with support from the various governmental agencies, has issued several directives with regards to the fight of the pandemic.

CSDS AFRICA PRESS RELEASE: CSDS AFRICA URGES GOVERNMENT TO BOOST PRODUCTION OF FACE MASKS AND SANITISERS AND MAKE SAME FREE FOR GHANAIANS.
CSDS Africa calls on the Government of Ghana to increase the production of facemasks and sanitizers, and freely distribute the same to all and sundry in Ghana. The call follows President Akufo-Addo’s advice that Ghanaians wear facemasks in public in a bid to limit the spread of COVID 19.

We look forward to a week of improved economic activities during this period. There are mixed feelings towards the lifting of the lockdown. On 8th April 2020, the CSDS Africa Research & Development Teams created draft guidelines for the mandatory use of face masks in public spaces. These guidelines were developed for implementation using information from the US CDC, WHO, Johns Hopkins and other research institutions. The team believed these guidelines will go a long way to aiding the Covid-19 Safety Operations teams combat the spread of the coronavirus.
We are proud to announce that our efforts have yielded much fruits as the Ministry of Health will be issuing mandatory guidelines for the use of face masks in the coming days

Effective today, the 3-week lockdown has been lifted. There are now over a 1000 confirmed. It has become more than necessary for people to actively follow and respect social distancing protocols. Attached is a position paper on why face masks are very crucial to protecting you from the coronavirus
