Flashback to an inspection and assessment at Waterland, Tema New Town.
A joint inspection was conducted at Waterland in Tema New Town on Monday, March 30, 2026, by the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) Metro Director, Hajia Zainab, Assemblyman Hon. Enoch Afutu, and a team of NADMO officers. The visit followed a heavy downpour on Sunday, March 29, which triggered significant flooding in the area.
The purpose of the inspection was to ascertain the primary cause of the flooding incident and assess the extent of damage. The exercise forms part of ongoing efforts by authorities to understand the underlying factors contributing to recurrent flooding in the community and to develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
The flooding was linked to drainage challenges due to an ongoing construction obstructing waterways.

✅ Let’s protect our environment by respecting natural watercourses and adhering to proper building regulations. ✅ Remember, your short-term gain could cause long-term pain for the entire community.
