Food Technology Services (FTS), School Agriculture and Food Management Unit(SAFMU) and National Nutrition Agency (NaNA) with the support from World Food Programme (WFP) has just concluded a five days sensory evaluation activity on fortified rice produced by Maruo Farms.
The objective of the test was to determine consumer sensory attributes and overall acceptability of the fortified rice. The panelist included school-going children, teachers and parents. The activity was conducted in CRRN and CRRS.

A 20-day training in processing and preservation of agro-commodities (fruits, vegetables, cereals and legumes) for youths and women is on-going at Njawara.
Twenty-five participants are drawn within North Bank Region.
The objective of the training is to equip the trainees with skills and knowledge on agro-processing thereby enabling them to become self-employed to curb down unemployment. It will also contribute towards prevention/reduction of post-harvest losses. Create diversification if food product amongst others.
The training is funded by Internation Trade Centre, Gambia Office through the Jobs, Skills and Finance Programme.
