I, Honourable Mamadou Obama Bah, call on all politicians and Gambians at large to bring an end to the politics of insult, personal attacks, and unnecessary hostility in our national discourse.
Politics must never be about hatred or character assassination. It must be about ideas, policies, and solutions that improve the lives of our people. The Gambian people deserve leaders who respect one another and who focus on presenting clear agendas, credible programs, and practical visions for national development.
Let us compete on ideas, not insults. Let us sell our agendas to the Gambian people with honesty, maturity, and respect. Our democracy will only grow stronger when political engagement is guided by decency, responsibility, and patriotism.
The future of The Gambia must unite us, not divide us.
Honourable Mamadou Obama Bah

Under my leadership, the Economic Liberation Movement (EL) is calling on the Government of The Gambia to increase the basic salary for civil servants to a minimum of D10,000 for grade one (1)
We acknowledge the effort made by President Adama Barrow and his government in attempting to improve the welfare of civil servants through past salary increments.
However, given the current market realities and high cost of living, the previous increase has made little to no meaningful difference in the lives of ordinary workers today.
It is alarming that over 59% of Gambian civil servants currently survive on bank overdrafts, a situation that reflects the deep economic hardship faced by our public workforce. If commercial banks were to suspend these overdraft facilities, the entire public service and national economy would face serious instability.
The EL believes that a fair and dignified wage is essential to national productivity, integrity in public service, and social stability. We urge the government to act immediately in the interest of the hardworking men and women who keep our nation running.
Hon. Mamadou Obama Bah

Fellow Gambians,
The Economic Liberation Movement(EL) stands as a voice of truth, sovereignty, and self-determination for our beloved nation. Today, I speak not only as a political leader but as a patriotic Gambian who believes that our independence must never be compromised under any foreign influence or military presence.
The continued stay of Senegalese and Nigerians troops in The Gambia, long after the 2017 political transition, poses a serious question in our sovereignty and national pride. What began as a regional peace mission has now transformed into a symbol of dependency and external control. No nation can be truly free if its security is commanded by foreign soldiers.
Our government’s reliance on these forces undermines the morale of our own military, weakens our institutions, and sends a dangerous message that The Gambia cannot protect itself. This is not only unacceptable, it is an insult to the dignity of our people and the sacrifice of those who fought for our freedom from colonialism.
As leader of the Economic Liberation Movement, I therefore call for:
1. An urgent review and clear timeline for the withdrawal of all foreign troops from Gambian soil.
2. A comprehensive national security review aimed at rebuilding the Gambian Armed Forces into a strong, professional, and independent institution.
3. A new chapter of mutual respect and balanced diplomacy with our ECOWAS partners a relationship based on equality, not subordination.
We believe in cooperation, not domination. We seek peace with our neighbors, but we reject any form of foreign military control or political interference. The Gambia must rise again free, proud, and self-reliant.
Under ELP leadership, we will restore full sovereignty, rebuild our defense capacity, and ensure that the destiny of The Gambia is decided in Banjul, not in Dakar or Abuja.
Let every Gambian hear this loud and clear: Our independence is sacred, our sovereignty is non-negotiable, and our dignity is eternal.
Hon. Mamadou Obama Bah

Youth Empowerment Through Agricultural Development under ELP government
My fellow Gambians,
Our youth are the heartbeat of this nation, energetic, creative, and full of potential. But potential alone is not enough; it must be guided, supported, and given purpose. That is why, under my leadership, we will place youth empowerment at the center of our agricultural revolution.
Agriculture is not a thing of the past it is the future of The Gambia. We will transform it into a modern, technology-driven sector that creates jobs, builds wealth, and ensures food security for every Gambian family. My government will invest in training programs, access to land and financing, and modern tools that make farming a business, not a struggle.
Through these reforms, young Gambians will no longer need to risk their lives through the “back way.” They will find dignity, opportunity, and prosperity right here at home in the fields, in the factories, and in the markets of our great nation. Together, we will make agriculture the new engine of youth empowerment and national development. Let us sow the seeds of change today and harvest a brighter, self-reliant Gambia tomorrow under the ELP government.
Under my leadership, the youth will rise, and The Gambia will grow.
Honorable Mamadou Obama Bah

As we move toward 2026 presidential election, ELP vision is clear: The Gambia must be a nation where every citizen feels safe, valued, and protected under one flag. National security is not about fear or force — it is about trust, discipline, and service to the people. Under my leadership, we will rebuild our national security architecture to serve the Republic, not individuals or political interests. Our men and women in uniform will be well-trained, well-equipped, and respected not for who they know but for how they serve.
We will strengthen border security, fight drug and human trafficking, and invest in modern intelligence systems to prevent threats before they reach our communities. Our approach will be rooted in professionalism, accountability, and human rights. But true security goes beyond guns and uniforms. It means jobs for our youth, justice for our people, and unity among our regions. Because when a nation is fair, its people stand together and no force can divide them.
In 2026, we choose a safer, stronger, and united Gambia nation where peace is protected and every citizen walks free without fear. Together, we will secure The Gambia’s future.”
Hon. Mamadou Obama Bah (ELP)

Fellow Gambians,
As our beloved nation prepares for the 2026 presidential election, EL Movement stands before you with a message of hope, renewal, and national unity. We are reminded that The Gambia, though small in size, is a nation of great people—resilient, hardworking, and blessed with limitless potential.
For far too long, our people have carried the burden of broken promises, economic hardship, and a system that serves a few instead of all. But we refuse to lose faith. Change is coming, and it begins with you—the Gambian voter.
Our movement was born from the belief that every Gambian deserves:
Dignity and opportunity, not dependency.
Justice and fairness, not favoritism and corruption.
A government that listens, not one that rules from above.
We envision a Gambia where youth have jobs, farmers have support, women have equal opportunities, and every child can dream without limits. Together, we can rebuild our institutions, restore trust, and return power to the people where it truly belongs.
The 2026 election is not just about politics; it is about a new beginning. It is about restoring hope in our democracy and pride in our nation.
Let us rise above division. Let us vote for progress, peace, and prosperity.
Let us vote for The Gambia we deserve.
The future is bright. The future is ours. The future is EL.
Hon. Mamadou Obama Bah

Fellow Gambians,
In these trying moments, I call on all citizens to remain calm, peaceful, and law-abiding. Our beloved country has always been a land of dialogue, tolerance, and respect for democratic processes.
The recent developments concerning the appointment of the Auditor General to a Ministerial positions should not divide us as a nation. Differences and misunderstandings can happen and must be addressed through our laws, institutions, and dialogue—not through violence or unrest.
I urge the government, political actors, civil society, and every Gambian to place peace above all else. Let us allow due process to take its course while safeguarding the stability and unity of The Gambia.
We must remember: peace is our greatest asset. Let us not jeopardize it. Together, with calm and patience, we will overcome every challenge. Am calling on the government of President Adama Barrow to release those arrested .
May Allah guide and protect The Gambia.
Hon. Mamadou Obama Bah

The Cost of Corruption , and Why We Must End it within the corners of our country.
My fellow Gambians, i am appealing to you today, not as a politician chasing power, but as a patriot answering a call. A call to rebuild our nation. A call to restore our dignity. A call to end the cancer that has eaten deep into our hopes and dreams — corruption.
For far too long, corruption has stolen our future. It has robbed the poor to enrich the powerful.
It has taken food from our children’s mouths to build mansions for ministers and other government officers.
It has buried our health system, broken our education, and blocked our youth from reaching their destination. Corruption is not just a crime — it is a betrayal of the people.
Let us speak the truth clearly and remind every Gambian that:
Every stolen dalasi is a child without medicine.
Every bribe is a farmer without water.
Every fake contract is a student without books.
Every dishonest deal is a family without electricity.
The Gambia loses millions every year to corruption, money that should be building hospitals, schools, roads, and creating jobs for our youth.
But I say: Enough is Enough.
Let everyone wage a war on corruption from today. Let us end impunity — no more sacred cows. Every thief in public office should face justice. The government should make sure both civil servants and public servants declare their assets before and after serving .
Digitize government payments .
To stop backdoor deals and cash theft.
Protect whistleblowers — Brave Gambians who expose corruption should be protected, not punished.
Audit every sector : From the ports to the ministries — transparency should be the new law of the land.
As citizens, we should not watch corruption from a distance.
Those holding office should serve the Gambian people — not steal from them. Because true leadership is not about what you gain , it is about what you give. This Fight Needs All of Us. We must build a culture of integrity in our homes, our offices, our markets, and our schools.
Let every Gambian say: “Not in my name.”
Let us teach our children that honesty is strength. That serving the nation is nobler than looting it.
Let us build a New Gambia where leadership is service, not exploitation.
Where no one is above the law, and every dalasi works for the people.
One Gambia for All. Not Just for the Few.
Thank you, and may God bless us all.

REST IN PEACE HONORABLE JAMMEH
