GIEPA is delighted to announce the beginning of the installation of a 21st century Communication and Content Management System (CMS) by our sponsors QLink Investment SA Geneva – an international IT and Software giant with base operations in the UAE (Dubai) and around the world. QLink Investment SA pledged to support and partner with the Gambia Government in May 2018, at the Donor Round-table Conference held in Brussels, at the EU Commission, to support our country’s National Development Plan (2018 – 20121) core pillars anch**ed on E-Governance and Digital Economy. QLink being the foremost company in these areas, is an IT Company registered in Geneva that has worldwide presence in Dubai, Qatar and other parts of the world.

The entire support package will include hardware, software and capacity development worth hundreds of thousands of US Dollar, which will transform GIEPA into a model for the rest of government agencies in The Gambia to emulate. The system will make the entire workflow system to be completely paperless leading to increased speed of work within GIEPA while improving efficiency in our response in dealing with other partners. The plan is to install, deploy and launch the system’s Phase 1 by end of January 2019.

This development came after series of engagements, include stakeholder Conference in E-Government - Smart Government and Digital Economy held in the country in August 2018, followed by investment understudy and technical mission tour to QLink’s Investment establishments in Dubai, led by the Investment Promotion and Facilitation Department Director of GIEPA, together with high level government dignitaries and technicians from MOFEA, MOICI, GAMTEL/GAMCEL, PURA and Brikama Area Council.

The staff of QLINK have this to say “We would like to take this opportunity to register our thanks and appreciation to the role GIEPA is playing in helping us fulfill the pledges we made to The Gambia Government to support the National Development Plan’s core pillar in E-Governance and Digital Economy”.
