The PNG National Weather Service has issued a Renewal of the Strong Wind Warning for the next 24 to 48 hours. Tropical Cyclone Narelle is currently tracking West-Southwest over the Coral Sea, bringing heavy rain and powerful winds to our coastal waters.

WARNING AREAS:
• MOMASE: Coastal waters from Manus to the Northern PNG/Indonesian Border.
• NGI: East New Britain, St. George Channel, New Ireland, and Nissan Island.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
• WINDS: Strong Northwest winds between 25 to 33 knots.
• SEAS: Very Rough Seas and high waves.
• WEATHER: Heavy rainfall and sudden, violent wind gusts.
SAFETY FIRST:
ALL SMALL CRAFTS AND BOATS are strongly advised to take necessary precautions. If you are in a warning area, please reconsider travel until conditions improve. Do not take risks at sea during this cyclone activity.

🌊 PNG National Weather Service – Annual Tide Calendar Now Available
The Papua New Guinea National Weather Service is pleased to share the Annual Tide Prediction Calendar for Papua New Guinea, produced in partnership with the Pacific Community through the COSPPac Programme.
The tide calendar provides predicted daily high and low tides for selected coastal locations in Papua New Guinea and is an important resource for people who depend on the sea.
This information can assist with:
⚓ Maritime and port operations
🎣 Fishing and coastal activities
🚨 Coastal flooding awareness and disaster preparedness
🏝 Marine tourism and recreation
🏗 Coastal infrastructure planning
We encourage maritime operators, fishermen, coastal communities, and government agencies to make use of this calendar when planning activities at sea and along our coastlines.
📍 Printed copies are available through the PNG National Weather Service, and digital copies will also be shared for public access.
