“Kirap nau” means “Get up now” in English, “okite / okinasai” in Japanese.
トクピシン語で「起きて/起きなさい」は、 “Kirap nau(キラップ ナウ)”と言います！

Senior Sempai Sailas Piskaut of So-Kyokushin Karate Dojo, and Mr. Robin J. Bingfu, Manager, paid a visit to the Embassy following their impressive karate performance at the recent Japanese Cultural Event🤝

During the meeting, we exchanged views on the promotion of karate in Papua New Guinea and its role as an important aspect of Japanese culture.

The visit provided a valuable opportunity to reaffirm the importance of karate culture in Papua New Guinea and the role of cultural exchange in strengthening ties between Japan and Papua New Guinea✨

先日開催した日本文化紹介イベントにおいて、素晴らしい空手パフォーマンスを披露してくださった総極真空手道場のサイラス師範とロビンマネージャーが大使館を訪問されました🤝

懇談では、パプアニューギニアにおける空手の普及や、日本文化の一つとしての空手が果たす役割などについて意見交換が行われました。

当地における空手文化の重要性と、日本とパプアニューギニアをつなぐ交流の力を再認識する機会となりました✨

“Win i strong” means “Windy” in English, “kaze ga Tsutomu” in Japanese.

🔔The Embassy of Japan in Papua New Guinea offers a financial assistance program called the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) which are designed to meet the diverse needs throughout PNG!
This scheme supports projects proposed by various bodies such as non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and local government authorities in:

✅ Education
✅ Health
✅ Water & Sanitation
✅ Gender Support

💰 Up to 20 million yen per project (approx. 600,000 Kina,
Approximate grant is dependent on the daily rate.)

On 26th May, the Embassy staff attended a repatriation ceremony hosted by the US Embassy in Port Moresby and the Defense Prisoner of War/Missing in Action Accounting Agency. We sincerely pray for the repose of those who lost their lives during the War.

5月26日、当地の米国大使館とアメリカ国防省の戦争捕虜・行方不明兵報告局（ＤＰＡＡ）が共催した遺骨送還セレモニーに大使館員が出席しました。先の大戦で亡くなられた方々のご冥福を心よりお祈りします。
