We were honored to participate in the 3rd Architecture Summit, contributing to an open discussion on the evolving role of architecture in shaping a more sustainable, resilient and materially conscious built environment.

Sifnos Mine Ecological Resort by KAAF | Kitriniaris Associates Architecture Firm has been selected among the distinguished projects of the 12th Biennale of Young Greek Architects and is currently exhibited at the Patras Archaeological Museum.

We are delighted to share that our project Sifnos Mine has been selected among the distinguished proposals featured in the 12th Biennale of Greek Architects, organized by the Hellenic Institute of Architecture.



The exhibition opens on Saturday, 16 May 2026 at 18:30 at the Archaeological Museum of Patras, where the official presentations, the announcement of the Biennale awards, and a discussion by the jury will take place.

Our proposal investigates the adaptive reuse of the historic landscape of Sifnos, transforming into a contemporary architectural experience that brings together landscape, memory, and hospitality.

A physical model of the project will also be presented at the exhibition.

The exhibition will remain open to the public from 16 May to 14 June 2026.

We are honored by this recognition and would like to thank the Hellenic Institute of Architecture, the curators, and the jury for including our work in this important exhibition.

Our interview in Leading Architect & Interior Firms Magazine, featured in VHMA Newspaper, focuses on being at the forefront of designing innovative and sustainable hotels and resorts in out-of-plan areas.

KAAF leads the design of projects committed to the triple bottom line of sustainability, emphasizing recyclable and sustainable materials, water reuse, and energy efficiency throughout the entire project lifecycle. To this end, KAAF develops projects that are well-integrated into their natural environments, such as the Greek islands and the mainland, while successfully addressing complex licensing procedures and environmental challenges.

The Gold Prize for the Kyathos Mass Timber Arena as already mentioned at the Andrew Waugh talk , along with the 5-year Anniversary Award, was dedicated to my beloved friend, travel companion, and passionate ambassador of timber, Ilias Angelopoulos ( ) - Founding Director of , , and - in recognition of his enduring commitment to timber and a shared journey of over 20 years filled with discussions, travels, conferences, and friendship.

Chasing timber, collaboration, and passion—towards new journeys, a shared vision, and what lies ahead. Thank you once again, Ilias, for your continuous support over all these years and for your commitment to pushing the boundaries of mass timber together.

It was a pleasure to moderate Marc Solsona Bernet head of Europe showcases the platform and how it enables complex searches across hundreds of brands and thousands of materials in seconds.

It was a great honor to moderate Andrew Waugh, Founding Director at Waugh Thistleton Architects , at his inspiring and innovative talk “Building with Nature: From Timber Innovation to Urban Transformation” at 2025.

Andrew has presented how Timber Architecture from small scale prototypes to large scale urban interventions can redefine the future of cities through low carbon, human-centric design.

Alexandros Kitriniaris, Founding Director of , opened the session with a concise introduction on the role of mass timber in Greece and send a promising message about the interconnection of timber architecture to new challenges of the 21st century bridging the connection to Andrew’s talk.
