"🇵🇹✨ Success Stories from Portugal

Our VERDEinMED success stories take us to Portugal, where three textile companies worked to strengthen their sustainability strategies through tailored technical assistance, with the support of the Center for Responsible Business & Leadership – Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics:

1️⃣ UNIFARDAS
➡️ Strengthened its understanding of sustainability, circularity and regulatory requirements, while identifying realistic short- and mid-term actions and developing a concrete sustainability-related initiative.

2️⃣ ALLCOST
➡️ Identified key sustainability priorities and opportunities for innovation, translating them into practical actions and a project proposal aligned with the company’s strategic objectives.

3️⃣ AFISOCKS
➡️ Advanced the integration of circularity into its sustainability strategy, improving its knowledge of due diligence, ESG reporting and climate-related issues while defining a concrete initiative for future implementation.

These experiences show how tailored mentoring can help companies turn sustainability ambitions into clear priorities and actionable steps towards a more circular and competitive textile sector. ♻️

"🇸🇮✨ Success Stories from Slovenia | Part 3

We conclude our Slovenian success stories with two companies exploring different pathways towards a more circular and sustainable textile sector through VERDEinMED:

5️⃣ ZAVOD JAZON
With the support of mentor Nataša Peršuh (Hishka d.o.o.):
➡️ Developed a circular product concept for an upcycled bag made from end-of-life workwear, defining key aspects related to design, production, quality control, traceability and market positioning.

6️⃣ MARTISE
With the support of mentor Polona Hrovat Mavsar (Involve Evolution):
➡️ Developed a practical framework for a mini sustainability strategy, identifying priority actions and introducing clear objectives and indicators to support implementation and credible sustainability communication.

Two different challenges, one common goal: translating sustainability and circular economy principles into practical, achievable actions. ♻️

♻️ We care about sustainability. But do our textile choices reflect it?

This is one of the key questions explored through the VERDEinMED Living Labs, which engaged more than 500 participants in Italy, Greece and Spain to better understand consumer behaviour and encourage more sustainable textile choices.

The findings revealed a clear “Value-Action Gap”: while consumers increasingly demand information on materials, origin, supply chains and working conditions, sustainability does not always translate into purchasing decisions.

But there is room for change. 🌱 Participants showed a strong willingness to adopt more sustainable habits and a clear demand for better information and training.

The VERDEinMED Living Labs demonstrate why consumer empowerment is essential to closing the loop of the circular textile economy — alongside action from businesses, policymakers and other stakeholders.

🇸🇮✨ Success Stories from Slovenia | Part 2

How can circular economy principles create new business opportunities from textile materials?

Today, we present two more Slovenian companies that explored this challenge through VERDEinMED with the support of mentor KNOF so.p.:

3️⃣ CPU
➡️ Developed a clearer strategy to turn non-selling textiles into valuable resources, identifying reuse and upcycling pathways, new market opportunities and potential B2B partnerships.

4️⃣ FONATERM
➡️ Advanced the development and market uptake of a new textile-based insulation solution through a roadmap integrating circularity, market positioning, certification and financing.

Both cases demonstrate how circular thinking can support not only environmental goals, but also stronger market positioning and new business opportunities. 🌱
