HONG KONG TOPS GLOBAL WEALTH MANAGEMENT RANKINGS 👏

Hong Kong has been ranked the world’s no. 1 cross-boundary wealth management centre. According to the Global Wealth Report 2026 released by Boston Consulting Group on 27 May, Hong Kong leads globally in cross-boundary wealth management.

The report also projects that Hong Kong’s cross-boundary wealth will grow at an average annual rate of 9% from 2025 to 2030, maintaining its global leadership.

This reflects strong confidence in Hong Kong’s position as a leading international hub for cross-boundary wealth management.

أكد تقرير الثروة العالمية 2026 الصادر عن مجموعة بوسطن الاستشارية في 27 مايو أن هونغ كونغ جاءت في المرتبة الأولى عالمياً كأكبر مركز لإدارة الثروات العابرة للحدود.

كما يشير التقرير إلى أن حجم الثروات العابرة للحدود المُدارة عبر هونغ كونغ مرشح للنمو بمعدل سنوي يبلغ 9% خلال الفترة من 2025 إلى 2030، ما يعزز استمرار تفوقها عالمياً في هذا القطاع.

ويعكس هذا التصنيف ثقة قوية في مكانة هونغ كونغ كمركز مالي دولي رائد في إدارة الثروات العابرة للحدود.

DUBAI ETO JOINS CULTURAL SALON IN UAE SHARING TEA FOR HARMONY 🫖🌏

Dubai ETO supported the “Tea for Harmony” Yaji Cultural Salon 2026 in Abu Dhabi on May 20 co-hosted by the Chinese Embassy in the UAE and the China Cultural Centre in the UAE by bringing Hong Kong style milk tea and traditional snacks – pineapple buns to the event. Dubai ETO Director-General Mr Simon Chan also took to the stage to share insights into the Hong Kong and Greater Bay Area “Yum Cha” tea culture alongside a live tea-making demonstration by a tea master.✨

Graced by UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence HH Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan and the Chinese Ambassador to the UAE HE Mr Zeng Jixin, the event showcased China’s tea traditions and rich cultural heritages such as handicrafts and calligraphy. Mr Chan introduced Hong Kong’s tea culture to guests, toured the exhibits, sampled teas from different cultures, and met HH Sheikh Nahyan accompanied by Amb Zeng at the Hong Kong tea and snack booth.

Highlighting Chinese tea culture as a global symbol of human connection and mutual understanding, the event strengthened cultural dialogue and friendship between the UAE and China, including Hong Kong.🤝

شارك مكتب هونغ كونغ الاقتصادي والتجاري في دبي في فعالية «الشاي من أجل الوئام – صالون ياجي الثقافي ٢٠٢٦» التي أُقيمت في أبوظبي بتنظيم مشترك من سفارة جمهورية الصين الشعبية لدى دولة الإمارات والمركز الثقافي الصيني في الإمارات.

وقدّم مكتب هونغ كونغ الاقتصادي والتجاري في دبي الشاي بالحليب على الطريقة الهونغ كونغية وخبز الأناناس التقليدي للضيوف، بحضور معالي الشيخ نهيان بن مبارك آل نهيان، وزير التسامح والتعايش، وسعادة السيد تسنغ جيشين، سفير جمهورية الصين الشعبية لدى دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة.✨

كما استعرض مدير عام المكتب السيد سايمون تشان ثقافة الشاي في هونغ كونغ ومنطقة الخليج الكبرى، بالتزامن مع عرض حي لفنون إعداد الشاي، إلى جانب جولة في أرجاء الفعالية شملت فن الخط الصيني والحرف التقليدية وتجارب شاي من ثقافات متعددة.🤝

STRENGTHENING HONG KONG-UAE TIES THROUGH VISITS TO KEY EXHIBITIONS 🇭🇰🇦🇪

Dubai ETO Director-General Mr Simon Chan recently visited Gulf News Edufair in Dubai on 8 May, where he toured leading participating educational institutions, and met with Dr. Eesa Al Bastaki, President of the University of Dubai as well as representatives of various universities in the UAE. The visit highlighted ongoing efforts to strengthen educational collaboration and academic exchange between Hong Kong and the UAE. 📍

On 12 May, Mr Chan also attended the Abu Dhabi Infrastructure Summit (ADIS), which convenes global leaders to discuss the future of infrastructure, smart cities, and urban development. He toured the exhibition and met Eng. Ahmed Al Shamsi, Group CEO of a major UAE-based multidisciplinary construction firm, exchanging views on developments in the infrastructure and construction sectors.

The visits reflect our continued engagement with key sectors and stakeholders in the UAE, fostering dialogue and collaboration between Hong Kong and the region. 🤝



زار السيد سايمون تشان، المدير العام لمكتب هونغ كونغ الاقتصادي والتجاري في دبي، معرض «جلف نيوز إديوفير» في دبي بتاريخ ٨ مايو، حيث قام بجولة على عدد من المؤسسات التعليمية المشاركة، كما التقى بالدكتور عيسى البستكي، رئيس جامعة دبي، إلى جانب ممثلين عن جامعات ومؤسسات أكاديمية مختلفة في دولة الإمارات.

وجاءت هذه الزيارة في إطار تعزيز التعاون الأكاديمي وتبادل الخبرات التعليمية بين هونغ كونغ والإمارات، وبحث فرص التعاون المشترك بين المؤسسات التعليمية في الجانبين.

كما شارك السيد تشان بتاريخ ١٢ مايو في «قمة أبوظبي للبنية التحتية»، التي جمعت نخبة من القادة والخبراء العالميين لمناقشة مستقبل البنية التحتية، والمدن الذكية، والتطوير الحضري. وخلال الزيارة، التقى بالمهندس أحمد الشامسي، الرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة متخصصة في قطاع الإنشاءات، حيث جرى تبادل الآراء حول أبرز التطورات في قطاعي البنية التحتية والتشييد.

COMPANY MEETINGS HIGHLIGHT INNOVATION & COLLABORATION 🤝✨

Dubai ETO continues to meet with Hong Kong companies operating in the UAE to gauge their outlook and show our support.🇭🇰

Director-General Mr Simon Chan recently visited a Hong Kong company located in Abu Dhabi providing eco-engineering solutions for ocean ecosystem restoration, where he met with CEO Miss Vriko Yu, a leading Hong Kong voice in marine restoration and innovation. He was briefed on the latest developments of the company, and engaged in discussions on sustainability, innovation, and new opportunities in climate-focused solutions. Mr Chan was also briefed by a representative of Hub71, Abu Dhabi’s global tech hub supporting startups and innovation across key sectors.

Mr Chan also met with the senior management of a Hong Kong-based multinational company established in the MENA region for two years. He learnt about their recent business situation and optimism for business prospect in the region. The meetings reflects Dubai ETO’s ongoing efforts to strengthen connections with Hong Kong innovators and companies, as well as partners across the region, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.

وفي هذا السياق، زار المدير العام السيد سايمون تشان شركة هونغ كونغية في أبوظبي متخصصة في الحلول البيئية البحرية، حيث التقى بالرئيسة التنفيذية الآنسة فريكو يو، إحدى أبرز الكفاءات الهونغ كونغية في مجال إعادة تأهيل النظم البيئية البحرية. واطّلع خلال الزيارة على تطورات الشركة ومسيرتها، إلى جانب بحث مجالات الاستدامة والابتكار. كما التقى بممثلين من منصة «هب 71»، المركز التقني في أبوظبي الداعم للشركات الناشئة.

كما عقد السيد تشان اجتماعاً مع الإدارة العليا لشركة عالمية مقرّها هونغ كونغ، التي انطلقت أعمالها في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا منذ عامين، حيث اطّلع على أوضاعها الحالية وتطلعاتها للنمو في المنطقة.

وتعكس هذه اللقاءات حرص المكتب على تعزيز العلاقات مع شركات هونغ كونغ، وبناء شراكات مثمرة مع مختلف الجهات في المنطقة.

SHARJAH ENGAGEMENT STRENGTHENS TIES WITH HONG KONG 🤝

Dubai ETO Director-General Mr Simon Chan recently visited the emirate of Sharjah and met with leaders of government and business entities to exchange updates and promote the latest developments of Hong Kong.

Mr Chan called on the Sharjah Economic Development Department to learn about the planning and implementation of economic development projects in Sharjah, a key manufacturing hub in the UAE. He also met with the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry , and was pleased to learn that Sharjah businesses are keen to explore collaboration opportunities with Hong Kong, such as participating in each other’s events and trade fairs. Last but not least, Mr Chan visited the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park and met with CEO H.E. Hussain Al Mahmoudi to discuss cooperation in innovation, technology, and knowledge-based industries.✨

The meetings build on engagements and joint initiatives that have strengthened bilateral relations in recent years, including the visit of Hong Kong delegation led by the Secretary for Justice in 2024 supported by Dubai ETO.

تعزيز التعاون بين الشارقة وهونغ كونغ🤝

قام مدير عام مكتب هونغ كونغ الاقتصادي والتجاري في دبي، السيد سايمون تشان، بزيارة إلى إمارة الشارقة، التقى خلالها بعدد من الجهات الحكومية والاقتصادية، ضمن جهود تعزيز التعاون وتبادل التطورات الاقتصادية بين الجانبين.

وشملت الزيارة دائرة التنمية الاقتصادية في الشارقة، حيث اطّلع على خطط تطوير المشاريع الاقتصادية، في ظل مكانة الشارقة كمركز صناعي رئيسي في دولة الإمارات. كما التقى بـ غرفة تجارة وصناعة الشارقة، حيث تم بحث فرص توسيع التعاون، خاصة في المشاركة المتبادلة في الفعاليات والمعارض التجارية. واختتم جولته بزيارة مجمع الشارقة للبحوث والتكنولوجيا والابتكار، حيث التقى بسعادة حسين المحمودي، الرئيس التنفيذي، لبحث فرص التعاون في مجالات الابتكار والتكنولوجيا والصناعات المعرفية.

وتأتي هذه الزيارة امتداداً لمسار التعاون المستمر، بما في ذلك زيارة وفد هونغ كونغ برئاسة وزير العدل في عام 2024، بدعم من مكتب هونغ كونغ الاقتصادي والتجاري في دبي.✨

50TH EDITION OF HONG KONG SEVENS SCINTILLATES KAI TAK STADIUM 🏉

Over 113,000 fans packed into Kai Tak Stadium to watch the historic 50th anniversary edition of the Hong Kong Sevens over the weekend (April 17-19).

South Africa stunned defending champions Argentina with a dominant 35-7 victory to claim their first-ever Hong Kong Sevens title 🏆. New Zealand women continue their dynasty, beating Australia 19-14 for their 5th straight tournament win and 4th consecutive HK Sevens crown. Meanwhile, Hong Kong, China men’s team made their own magic, powering past Japan 19-15 for a third straight Melrose Claymores victory. 🙌🏼
