Switzerland doesn’t grow a single coffee bean… yet it is the world’s second-largest coffee exporter by value ☕️

In fact, the value of Swiss coffee exports surpasses that of chocolate and cheese combined. This success is built on Switzerland’s transformation into a global "Coffee Valley," a hub that unites traders, experts, and industry leaders. By importing high-quality beans and refining them into premium products, such as capsules and high-end specialties, Switzerland has redefined the coffee market.

Our influence extends to technology as well: 70% of the world’s fully automatic coffee machines are Swiss-made, a testament to our precision engineering.

What is your favorite way to enjoy your coffee? Let us know below! 👇🏻

Exploring the future of innovation at BEYOND Expo 2026! 🚀

The event in Macao offered an immersive look at the future of technology, centered on this year’s theme: "AI: Digital to Physical." The day was dedicated to exploring the next generation of AI, robotics, and smart manufacturing, focusing on how visionary research is being translated into practical, real-world deployment across the region.

Engaging with these breakthroughs provided a clear perspective on the evolving tech ecosystem of the Greater Bay Area and highlighted the essential role of global collaboration in addressing today’s complex challenges. These interactions underscore the strength of the ongoing dialogue between Swiss innovation and the vibrant landscape here in Macao.

Consul General Daniel Freihofer and Ylva Freihofer were delighted to attend and participate in such a thought-provoking experience, and we look forward to seeing how these innovations continue to shape our interconnected future!

Cultural exchange often lies in the finest details! ✂️✨

It was a pleasure to visit the "Tradition & Perfection: Paper Cuttings from China & Switzerland" exhibition at the University Museum and Art Gallery Hong Kong.

The exhibition creates a meaningful dialogue between two distinct artistic traditions, juxtaposing Swiss paper cuttings from the collection of Elsbeth and Niklaus Wyss with exquisite Chinese paper-cut art. The atmosphere is one of quiet intensity, where the extraordinary precision of both cultures reveals how we have mastered the art of storytelling through patience and meticulous craftsmanship, from the narrative microcosms of Alpine life to the symbolic depth of Chinese heritage.

It is inspiring to see this craft, recognized by UNESCO in 2009 as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, highlighted through such a powerful cross-cultural lens.

A special thank you to the curator for the insightful guided tour! 🙏🏼

Consul General Daniel Freihofer and his team, had a productive visit to the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts. During their time there, they explored the diverse range of programs offered by HKAPA and gained valuable insights into the collaborative efforts between the School of Film and Television and the Zurich University of the Arts.
