【油街著綠｜白霞】

是芋嗎？原來是白霞開花了！

白霞屬植物科的天南星科，另稱大野芋。白霞這個詩意名字，其實來自於她的越南名字bạc hà。與平常常吃的芋頭吃法不一樣，她同樣有個脫俗的吃法——捨根食莖，去皮過油後，與魚露、河鮮慢火燉煮，熬出鮮味混和草本清香。

Is it taro? Look—the Bạc Hà is in bloom!

Bạc Hà, which belongs to the Araceae family, is also known as the Giant Elephant Ear. This poetic name is a transliteration of its Vietnamese name, bạc hà. Unlike the common taro we typically eat, it has an elegant and unconventional culinary use: the stalk is consumed rather than the root. Once carefully peeled and lightly sautéed, the stalk is slow-cooked with fish sauce and river seafood, creating a rich umami flavour combined with a refreshing herbal fragrance.

【浴場美學：陶瓷肥皂鍊成術🛁✨】

觀眾最愛作品之一《左旋之心》心形浴池，由1,200多塊陶瓷磚拼湊而成。每塊陶瓷的厚度與弧度皆經過精密計算及反覆試驗，尤其是陶瓷燒釉後的造型變化，永遠無法預測，當中最難鍊成的又是哪一塊？

藝術家陳惠立首次以陶瓷為創作媒介，並與團隊到訪「陶瓷之都」景德鎮，與當地工匠共同創作。浴池瓷磚的凹凸、光澤與色差，都是窯火留下的痕跡，而燒製後的色釉表面，帶著無法複製的質感，就如左旋蝸牛Jeremy一樣獨特。🐌❤️

【Bathhouse Aesthetics: The Secret Behind the Tiles and Ceramic Soaps 🛁✨】

Ever wondered how the heart-shaped pool 𝘓𝘌𝘝𝘖 𝘓𝘖𝘝𝘌 came to life? This visitors’ favourite is a giant puzzle made of over 1,200 handmade ceramic tiles. It wasn’t just about aesthetics—each tile’s thickness and curve were meticulously calculated through endless trial and error. The most exciting and nerve-wracking part is the unpredictable magic of the kiln. Every time the glaze is fired, it changes in its own way. Can you imagine which piece was the toughest to get just right?

Artist Chan Wai-lap took a leap into ceramics for the first time, travelling all the way to the “Porcelain Capital” Jingdezhen to collaborate with local artisans. From the subtle glows to the raw textures left by the fire, every tile is unique, just like our left-coiled snail, Jeremy. 🐌❤️

【維港水中拾憶：時空迴響 — 東方之珠】

維多利亞港的水底能浮起怎樣的記憶？🌊✨

電車叮叮、鐵路的報站聲、街市喧嚷、童謠悠悠……隨著鏡面裝置的光線驅動 ，層層飄浮於耳。

抬頭仰望，淘氣的光斑於如海天一色的穹頂與你玩起捉迷藏。幽幽莞香縈繞海岸高樓殘影，記憶與當下悄然重疊。

水色褪去，溯流浮升，我們可透過藝術家鄭靖的這件大型裝置作品懷揣這抹溫潤回憶，走入那片燦爛日光。☀️

【Gathering Harbour Memories: Echoes of Space-Time — The Pearl of the Orient】

What memories can emerge from the depths of Victoria Harbour? 🌊✨

The "ding-ding" of trams, the echoes of station announcements, the bustle of wet markets, and the gentle lilt of nursery rhymes—manipulated by the light from the mirrored devices, these layers of sound float towards your ears.

As you look up, playful patches of light play hide-and-seek upon a dome where sea and sky merge. The faint scent of incense lingers amidst the silhouettes of coastal skyscrapers, where memories and the present moment converge.

As the water hues fade and you surface from the current, step into the brilliant sunlight, carrying the warmth of these memories through artist Zheng Jing’s large-scale installation. ☀️

Step into “Jeremy’s Bathhouse” and take a moment to find the colour that speaks to you🎨. Every hue and every detail holds its own meaning. 春天來臨，蝸牛們悄悄現身。油街玻璃屋裏這位「左旋」蝸牛Jeremy，到底有何特別之處？🔎

答案就藏在G/F的浴場接待處——當訪客們直奔樓上的心形浴池，急不及待地「浸日光浴」時，或許未曾留意，藝術家陳惠立早已在接待處的玻璃櫃中，揭示Jeremy 的身世與面貌。「左旋」蝸牛約每四萬隻才會誕生一隻，您的到訪，正好讓牠不再孤單。

【🐌Uncover Jeremy’s Secret at Bathhouse G/F】

Spring is here and the snails are quietly making their appearance. But what makes Jeremy, the left-coiling snail in Oi! Glassie, so special?🔎

While most visitors rush upstairs to the heart-shaped pool for a “sun bath”, a little secret waits downstairs at the G/F reception counter: In a glass case, artist Chan Wai-lap reveals Jeremy’s story and likeness to the public. Left-coiling snails are exceptionally rare — only about one in every 40,000 is born this way, your visit will make sure Jeremy is no longer alone.

【油街著綠｜枇杷】🟡
路過園圃時，你有發現藏在葉片間那抹淡淡的金黃嗎？
古人偏愛枇杷，稱它為「金丸」，形容其果實圓潤亮澤，如同閃閃發光的珠寶。北宋詩人宋祁曾以「樹繁碧玉葉，柯疊黃金丸」來描繪這份生機。下次來到油街實現，記得放慢腳步，在翠綠中尋找這些可愛的「小金丸」。

As you stroll through oi! organic garden, keep an eye out for soft golden glimmers peeking through the foliage.
Ancient poets, captivated by their lustrous, bead-like appearance, dubbed loquats "Golden Pearls". Northern Song poet Song Qi once described them beautifully: "The tree flourishes with emerald leaves, its boughs heavy with clusters of golden pearls."

Next time you’re at Oi!, take a moment to spot these little "golden pearls" hidden in the greenery.

As spring blossoms, the second “Oi! Daily: Good Store” Art Day is just around the corner, celebrating the new Spring season. Led by our young–old ambassadors, the programme invites participants to slow down, reconnect with nature and savour the little moments of everyday life. 🌸

🍵In “A Sip of Wellness”, participants will learn how to prepare spring health beverages using seasonal plants from the Oi! organic garden. ✂In the “Seasonal Paper Cutting Workshop”, our ambassadors will guide participants to create small paper-cut cards inspired by the elements of spring. 📸 The “Storytelling Guided Tour” will take visitors through Oi!’s verdant historic architecture and organic garden. During the tour, the artist shared his firsthand insights into how he drew inspiration from Oi!’s historic architecture and space, and shared the personal stories behind the creation of each artwork.

The preview of two “Oi! Spotlight” exhibitions kicked off tonight, adding to the energy of Art March in Hong Kong. Artist Zheng Jing from Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong artist Chan Wai-lap present new works inspired by the theme of water across Oi!’s Warehouses, Glassie, Study and Lawn, creating a dialogue that transcends space and imagination. Oi! extends its sincere gratitude to all guests for their presence! The exhibitions officially open tomorrow (19 March), see you there!
