Emergency volunteers also serve as a vital support during incidents. Recently I visited the fire station of the South San Nicolas Volunteer Fire Brigade 仙尼龜拉示南區志願消防隊 in Manila, Philippines. The station is equipped with a pump tender and water carrier, ready 24/7 to respond to any firefighting emergencies. For the past 50 years, these dedicated volunteers have been at the forefront of protecting the Manila community.

The Fire and Rescue NSW Emergency Services Academy in Australia have simulation training facilities for replicating diverse typical environments across the country. These facilities provide emergency responders with realistic and safe training opportunities, helping them to refine their firefighting and rescue techniques and improve operational effectiveness.

The NSW Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Task Force is classified as a Heavy USAR team by the UN INSARAG. It is formed by the Fire & Rescue NSW and other emergency services, like NSW Ambulance, NSW Police Force, etc. The team is consistently prepared to respond to emergencies both within the local area and internationally.

It is one of the rare specialized organizations globally dedicated exclusively to railway emergency response. They play a vital role in ensuring the safety of both employees and passengers, working closely alongside other emergency services.
