Monitorear y restaurar pastos marinos requiere esfuerzos compartidos.

Monitoring and restoring seagrass requires shared efforts. During this workshop, technicians from Utila, Roatan, and Guanaja worked with the same field methodology, from abundance assessments to planting techniques, building a common foundation for tracking these ecosystems in the Bay Islands National Marine Park.
Seagrass beds provide habitat and nursery grounds for many species, and help stabilize sediment on the seafloor.
Thanks to the German Government through the International Climate Initiative (IKI) , Manuel Merello and Ben Scheelk of The Ocean Foundation, and to the participating institutions: ICF, CEM, ZOLITUR, RMP, UMA (Roatan and Guanaja), Marina Mercante, FIB, and BICA.
