New Covenant School
To: All of our supporters
New Covenant School has been in service for 16 years in the community of Saint Louis du Nord, Haiti and beyond. We started on September 4th, 2008, with $400 and classes from kindergarten to 3rd grade. We currently have classes from pre-K to 13th grade and 380 students, 12 full time employees and 16 part time employees for this school year. The school is recognized by the government and with that we are allowed to send our students to attend the official exams with no problems.
Three years ago, we moved from a free tuition structure to a half price tuition structure. Many people still cannot afford the half price tuition because of the gang violence situation in Haiti. Thankfully, the donations we receive covers this debt so that children can still attend school. At this time, there is no violence in Saint Louis du Nord, but the situation has affected the community and the whole country. People still cannot travel to sell their goods freely. We are thankful that the school has stayed open since September.
We are grateful to Miami First Church of the Brethren, where it all started. Thank you to each one of you for your financial support and prayers. There are countless children who would have been without an education and some who may have joined the gangs if it wasn’t for your support and generosity to the children of Haiti.

On behalf of the students, their families, and the school staff in Haiti, along with the Alphonse family, thank you very much. What you have done for the least you have done for Christ. When the students, the parents and the community thank God, God remembers each one of you.
