On May 26, we welcomed third-country nationals, partners, and practitioners to the Labour Market Inclusion Expo at CEU Budapest. It was a day built around a simple belief: that people navigating a new labour market deserve access to reliable information, practical support, and a space where their questions are taken seriously.
We want to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who attended. Whether you joined for a single session or stayed the whole day, your engagement made the event what it was.
We also owe our gratitude to the partner organizations and experts who contributed their knowledge and presence: your work continues to shape a more inclusive labour market in Hungary.
We learned a great deal, and we're committed to growing from here.

One of the most important things we can offer at the Labour Market Inclusion Expo is something that doesn't always fit neatly into a job description: the knowledge that keeps you safe.
Throughout the day, the IOM Hungary team will be present with a dedicated information desk where you can speak directly with our staff about the questions that matter most when it comes to fair and safe employment in Hungary.
What does a legal contract actually look like? How can you tell if a job offer is genuine? What are the warning signs that a situation might be heading toward exploitation, and where can you turn if it does?
We will also be leading a session that goes deeper into these topics, covering the key elements of fair employment, how to identify fraudulent job offers, how to recognize exploitation risks, and how to access support when something doesn't feel right. This is information we believe every worker should have, and we're making space for it in a setting where questions are not only welcome but encouraged.

Take action when you notice early signs of workplace violence!
Migrant workers are more likely to become a victim of workplace violence. It is also harder for them to get help due to language barriers, lack of support and knowledge of their rights.
Violence means any act of physical, sexual, or psychological harm. Sexual harassment often consists of repeated unwelcomed and unreciprocated actions such as touching, inappropriate language, jokes, or references. Workplace bullying is a persistent offensive and cruel behaviour in attempt to humiliate and hurt someone.
No occupation is immune to workplace violence, do not ignore the early signs.
We'll be exploring similar topics and questions at the Labour Market Expo on May 26 in Budapest. Hit "Interested" on the Facebook event to stay updated on the programme – and let's meet in person!
