🚀 HIIA Future Leaders Program 2026

Are you passionate about international affairs, geopolitics, diplomacy and global decision-making? Do you want to work alongside leading experts, contribute to policy research and become part of Hungary's next generation of foreign policy professionals?

The Hungarian Institute of International Affairs (HIIA) is now accepting applications for its prestigious Future Leaders Program 2026.

🌍 What awaits you?
For three intensive months, selected fellows will become an integral part of HIIA's research community, working directly with experienced researchers and policy experts. Participants will conduct independent research, contribute to strategic policy analyses, attend professional seminars and gain firsthand insight into the world of international relations and diplomacy.

🔎 Research Areas
Participants can engage with some of the most important geopolitical challenges of our time:
Regional studies: Western Balkans, Eastern Europe, Visegrád cooperation, Transatlantic relations, Middle East, Turkic States, Asia-Pacific.
Thematic studies: Security policy, European Union, Energy policy, Multipolarity, Global geopolitical issues, Connectivity, Cultural diplomacy

The program is designed for ambitious young talents and recent graduates under the age of 30 with a strong interest in international affairs. Relevant backgrounds include:
