The Jerusalem Ballet’s performances “Magical Steps” and “The World of Ballet,” in Jerusalem in 2008-09, included works from the classical and neo-classical repertoire as well as contemporary choreographic works. The dancers include graduates of the Ballet School, taught by Nina and Nadia Timofeeva, as well as graduates of other schools in Israel and the Former Soviet Union. The Jerusalem Ballet has been written up in Ha’aretz, the Jerusalem Post, Vesti (Russian news), and has featured in radio shows such as the Culture Journal, the French and Russian language news broadcasts, and on TV. In 2009 the amuta was awarded support from the Jerusalem Department of Culture for two new projects, including this performance.
