Padma Shri awardee Satyanarayanan Mundayoor, who has been instrumental in spearheading the library movement in Arunachal Pradesh through the Lohit Youth Library Network, visited the Vikram Sarabhai Library this afternoon.
He interacted with the library team and generously shared his inspiring journey of building a reading culture among young people through community libraries.
His experiences from the grassroots—where books become bridges to opportunity and imagination—were deeply motivating.

Students and faculty members from Sardar Patel University, Gujarat, recently visited the Vikram Sarabhai Library at Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.
During the visit, the Librarian of V. S. Library conducted an engaging orientation session, introducing the students to the library’s rich collections, digital resources, archival practices, and advanced research support services.
We were delighted to host the budding library science professionals and look forward to continued academic exchanges.

The Vikram Sarabhai Library recently hosted an engaging and insightful book talk on “A Sixth of Humanity: Independent India’s Development Odyssey.”
The session featured Prof. Arvind Subramanian (PGP 1981), former Chief Economic Advisor of India (2014-18) and Prof. Devesh Kapur from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies. The discussion was thoughtfully moderated by Prof. Chinmay Tumbe, IIM Ahmedabad.
The event sparked a rich dialogue on India’s post-Independence development journey, examining economic policymaking, institutional evolution, and the challenges and possibilities that lie ahead. The enthusiastic participation and thoughtful questions from the audience made the session truly memorable.
