As we celebrate Gandhi Jayanti today, I want to ask all those people from Jammu & Kashmir associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) what is their take on the happenings in UP, West Bengal, Bihar, or Uttarakhand—where we have BJP governments—and where we see Muslim Community being openly targeted? Are you aware of all this ? How can you remain silent and not question your leadership on these critical issues ?
India’s true strength has never been defined by the dominance of a majority or rich people. The constitution of India never allows to undermine Non Hindus especially Muslims; instead, it grants dignity to every citizen. From the quiet prayers of Parsis to the vibrant traditions of Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, and Christians, this land is a shared heritage that has co-existed for centuries. However, recent happenings in UP like bulldozing mosques and targeting a particular community, are unacceptable.
It was a heart-wrenching scene to see a funeral procession (Janaza) blocked in Menka village of Bihar's Darbhanga, forcing Muslim mourners to carry the body across a village river ? I can quote dozens of such incidents
To honor Mahatma Gandhi’s vision is to remember that unity isn't about erasing our differences, but celebrating our equal claim to the same soil. Gandhi Ji said a civilization is to be judged by its treatment of minorities. He further warned by saying "A majority community intoxicated by power seeking to crush minorities would ultimately ruin both its own religion and itself " Let us think over it ?
