Punjab Energy Development Agency(PEDA), bags 2nd prize in Energy Efficiency in the State Performance Award Category (group 3) of the National Energy Conservation Awards 2025 from the Hon'ble President of India in the august presence of Hon'ble Minister NRES, Sh.Aman Arora,Sh.Basant Garg,CMD PSPCL & Adminstrative secretary ,NRES and Smt Neelima,CEO,PEDA.

India’s total final energy consumption has surged from 414 MTOE in 2013–14 to 597 MTOE in 2023–24 — a 44% rise that reflects the country’s rapid growth.

The industry sector is leading the way, which now consumes nearly half (49.5%) of all energy used in India. This high share is driven by energy-intensive sectors like steel, cement, and the vast MSME ecosystem — the backbone of India’s manufacturing economy.
