For Chennai, tonight looks promising for rains! Moderate rains are likely to continue intermittently.
The low that has stayed with us since the onset of NEM is now travelling across Tamil Nadu, bringing another round of widespread rains before merging into the circulation of the upcoming Arnab.
This system has kept the rains going for days, reaching districts that badly needed them. As it travels across Tamil Nadu before merging into Arnab's circulation, it's hard not to appreciate what it has done for our monsoon.
Usually, a strong system forming north of Andaman can pull moisture away from our region, leaving Tamil Nadu relatively dry. Without this low near us, October could have told a very different story.
