I am Yashodha Jayarathne, 24 year old. I call myself an ambitious young woman yet physically handicapped and I am writing this to seek financial assistant for my correctional surgery. Here is my story. I was born normal with no birth defects and led a perfectly normal life. However back in 1997 that is when I was 9 years old I fell ill and admitted to hospital only to find that I had contracted Le

ukemia. I was admitted to Cancer Hospital – Sri Lanka where I received treatments for about two years. In the midst of treatments for Leukemia I suffered paralysis of both legs and became wheelchair dependent. In or around the year of 2001, I was diagnosed with right hip dislocation and in 2005 yet again with a spinal disorder known as kyphoscoliosis. In spite of these major physical impairments, I learnt to cope up with my day-to-day activities. However, spending years with numerous physical hardships gradually deteriorated my health condition and I started experiencing chronic pain and discomfort including breathing difficulties and trouble maintaining sitting and sleeping positions. As a result, I resorted to local medical practitioners but found no favorable reply. According to them, surgeries were difficult to perform in sri lanka. Even though, my deteriorating health has become a cause concern to my family members and more. So it has become increasingly hard for me to do my day-to-day activities. It is when I met a team of Indian doctors attached to Apollo Hospital – India during their visit to Sri Lanka. I was informed of the possibility of performing two correctional surgeries. Furthermore they said the surgery will improve my physical and emotional wellbeing, enabling me to follow my daily pursuits independently. This news gave me a glimmer of hope to my forlorn future. After my initial consent to go ahead with the operations, the said doctors replied along with the estimated cost amounting to Indian Rupees 1,700,000/- [Approximately LKR 4,500,000/- & USD 36,000/-]. This projected cost exceeds way beyond our financial capabilities. As we don’t have a fixed abode, we are living in a renting house. Also we do not own fixed assets or other properties to sell. My father deserted us a long time back and he hardly maintains any connection with us. My youngest sister is still schooling and my mother has to incur expenses for her studies. We do not have other means of income apart from my mother’s monthly pension allowance. I was destined to a hapless fate but life has taught me to move on. I wish to live my life to the fullest improving on my abilities thus surpassing my disabilities. With every passing day I feel more ambitious as I yearn to live a normal life I once used to live. I would be grateful if you could lend me financial assistance in my humble endeavor to pursue my normal life. Even the smallest donation towards brightening my future will be greatly appreciated.

It is happy to update you all that the surgery was successfull and she was transferred to a patient's room from the Intensive Care Unit.

She is in a good condition and is recovering with all your blessings.

End of Check ups, scans, reporting, discussing & Assessing they decided to do the surgery tomorrow... YES TOMORROW MORNING IS MY SURGERY.... please wish me, Pray for me, give me your strength & be with me till this hard days over..... Hope life will be change in good way....

ජීවිතේ රඳා පවතින්නේ බලාපොරොත්තු මත. ඒත් එකෙමෙක බලපොරෝත්තුවක්වත් නැතුව ජීවිතේ ගත උන කාලයක් මටත් තිබුනා.දෛවයට අවනතව , දුක් සුසුම් මත ඉදි උන මගේ හෙට දවස එක විටම එක්තරා ඉරකින් කල එලි වෙනවා. හදවතේ පුංචිම ඉඩක ගුලි ගැහිලා තිබුන සිතුවිල්ලකට දිවි දුන්නේ ඔබයි.... මා නැවතත් ජීවිතේ දිහා හැරිලා බැලුවා. පරාජයට පිටුපාල මා යන්න හදන ගමනට කාගේ නැතත් ඔබේ ආශිර්වාදය ලැබෙන බව මට දැනුනා. ලක්ෂ 45 ක හිතන්නවත් බැරි ඉලක්කයකට මාව රැගෙන ගියේ ඔබයි . සැබවින්ම ඔබේ කාලයයි. ශ්‍රමයයි. කැපවීමයි. දහසකුත් එකක් රාජකාරී අතරතුර තවත් කෙනෙකුගේ ජීවිතය දිහා බලන්න හිතෙන එකම මනුස්සකම නොවෙයිද.අද මගේ ශක්තිය වෙලා මගේ දෙපයට වීරිය දෙන්නේ ඒ මනුස්සකමයි. ...

මෙවන් උත්තම පිරිසක් ගැන මගේ හැගීම නම් වචන වලට පෙරලන්න බෑ. ඒත් කිව යුතුමයි...මේ නැවතත් ජීවය ලබන ජීවිතය සදා ඔබට ණය ගැති බව. නම් එකින් එක එක සදහන් කරන්න ගියෝතින් මන් දන්නෙවත් නැති, මට ශක්තිය උන ඔබට සිදුවන්නේ නිවැරදි කල නොහැකි වරදක්. එනිසා නමින් ගමින් නොව ... මම ඔබව මෙසේ අමතමි....හිතන්නටවත් නොහැකි තරමේ ඉලක්කයකට මා රැගෙන ගොස් මට නැවත දිවි දෙන්නට නොකළ දෙයක් නැති මගේම වූ ඔබට අනේක වාරයක් පින්.....

ඔබගේ නොනැවතුන මෙහෙයුමේ අවසාන අදියරයි මේ...ඒ කියන්නේ මගේ ශල්‍ය කර්මය සදහා ඔබ විසින් එක් කල සෑම සතයකම ප්‍රතිපල ලබන නිමේෂයයි උදා වෙලා තියෙන්නේ. මේ මාසේ 2 වනදා ඒ කියන්නෙ අද, ඔබගේ ශක්තියත් , ආශිර්වාදයත් සමග එම ශල්‍ය කර්මයට මුහුණ දීම සදහා මා ඉන්දියාව බලා යාමට නියමිතයි. ... මා නැවත එන තුර ඔබ සියලු දෙනා නොඉවසිල්ලෙන් බලා සිටින බව මන් දන්නවා. ඒ සතුට ඔබ සමග බෙදා ගන්නට මා සිටින්නේත් නොඉවසිල්ලෙන්...ඉතින් නැවතත් මුණ ගැහෙමු සතුටු සිනා සමගින් ............
