ABHIBYAKTI—meaning expression—is a collective celebration of the creative spirit, resilience, and artistic vision of women artists. This exhibition brings together a diverse group of practitioners whose works, though distinct in style, medium, and subject, are united by a shared commitment to authentic expression and meaningful visual dialogue.

The artworks presented in this exhibition explore a wide spectrum of themes, including identity, memory, nature, relationships, spirituality, culture, and contemporary life. Each artist offers a personal perspective, transforming lived experiences, emotions, and observations into compelling visual narratives. Together, these individual voices create a rich tapestry of ideas that celebrates both diversity and unity within contemporary artistic practice.

ABHIBYAKTI is more than a group exhibition; it is a platform that recognizes the invaluable contributions of women to the world of art. It honours their creativity, dedication, and evolving artistic jo

We are thrilled to invite you to the closing program of the group exhibition Nothing Twice at Emami Art on the 9th May 2026. Abhivyakti is a three-act responsive performance by Odissi soloist Rohini Banerjee.

The performance is conceptualised around the selected artworks in the group exhibition and the elements of classical Indian aesthetics. It navigates through the broader themes of the exhibition, womanhood, identity and gender. Stylistically rooted in the movement language of Odissi, the performance explores the emotional and affective landscape of desire, resilience and memory.

Rohini Banerjee is an emerging young Odissi soloist from Kolkata. She is a senior disciple of Guru Sharmila Biswas, who has trained and groomed her from the age of twelve. Rohini tours extensively in India and abroad as a part of her Guru’s repertoire. She has recently started her journey as a soloist, performing on a few well-known platforms, and has received appreciation from the audience and press. She is a recipient of the Young Artistes Scholarship by the Ministry of Culture and has recently been empanelled as one of the artists for WD projects of SPICMACY. Rohini was awarded the Doverlane Award and the Sanjukta Panigrahi Memorial Award twice in 2008 and 2009, respectively. She is also a graded artist of Doordarshan.

Recently, she premiered her solo production, Anuraga, an exploration of love, at BLR Hubba, Bengaluru, in 2026.

The performance is open to all. For more information, visit, www.emamiart.com
