An Outreach Training Programme on “Safety of Life at Sea” was conducted by the Central Institute of Fisheries Nautical and Engineering Training (CIFNET) on 17 February 2026 at the Ganjam ME Unit. The programme aimed to enhance fishermen’s awareness and build capacity in sea safety practices, effective use of life-saving appliances, and emergency response procedures. More than 50 marine fishermen participated actively in the training session.

It’s time we shine a light on this invisible cycle of destruction and advocate for better gear tracking and recovery programs.
