Uttarakhand State Sports University, Haldwani | 2 March 2026
Under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Amit Kumar Sinha, a comprehensive review meeting was held to assess progress on key decisions approved by the Board of Governors.
A high-level committee has been constituted for framing the University regulations and designing globally aligned, career-oriented academic programmes. Clear directions were issued to expedite preparations for the upcoming Executive Council meeting.
Post the meeting, an extensive inspection of the campus infrastructure — including sports grounds, academic blocks, gymnasium, library, hostels, and research facilities — was conducted.
A significant step forward towards operationalizing the University and establishing excellence in sports education in Uttarakhand. 🏆✨

🏟️ Big Boost for Women’s Sports in Uttarakhand!
The State’s first dedicated Women’s Sports College at Chhamaniya, Lohaghat, is set to mark a historic milestone with its first academic session proposed from July. Built at an estimated cost of ₹256 crore, the campus will feature world-class infrastructure including football, hockey, volleyball & basketball grounds, a synthetic athletics track, modern academic blocks, auditorium, multipurpose hall, and a 300-capacity girls’ hostel.
Hon’ble Principal Secretary (Sports) Amit Kumar Sinha visited the site to inspect ongoing works, review quality standards, and ensure timely completion of the project.
Earlier, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami emphasized that this Women’s Sports College is a priority initiative aimed at empowering young women athletes across the state, especially from rural and hilly regions.
A landmark step towards strengthening Uttarakhand’s sports ecosystem and creating champions for the future. 💪✨
