Important Announcement for AFCAT 02/2026

The Indian Air Force has introduced a new GATE score-based entry route for the Ground Duty (Technical) Branch.

Candidates can now be directly shortlisted for the AFSB based on their GATE score, with no written examination required. This entry route is in addition to the existing AFCAT entry.

The AFCAT is the Indian Air Force's national-level entrance exam for graduate men and women looking to join as commissioned officers in the Flying, Ground Duty Technical, and Ground Duty Non-Technical branches.

Engineering graduates may apply for the Ground Duty (Technical) Branch through AFCAT or GATE Score Based Entry or both, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria.

The NCC Special Entry scheme also allows eligible candidates to apply for the Flying Branch through the same portal.

Candidates who are studying in the final year/semester Degree course and are yet to pass the final year degree examination can also apply provided candidate should not have any present backlog at the time of submission of application.
