The Industry 4.0 Innovation Centre, an Autonomous Society anchored by Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL), held its first Governing Body Meeting (GBM) to advance the establishment of the HI-TECH TOOL ROOM/SERVICE BUREAU as announced in the Union Budget 2026–27.
The initiative aims to promote a ‘Whole-of-CPSE approach’ for accelerating the adoption of Industry 4.0 and frontier technologies, making advanced solutions more affordable and enabling collaborative innovation in support of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat vision of the Government.

Department of Public Enterprises (DPE), in association with Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, organised a two-day Orientation Programme on Capacity Building of Functional Directors of CPSEs at Shillong on 7–8 May 2026. The programme was attended by CMDs and Directors of several CPSEs.
Shri K. Moses Chalai, Secretary, DPE, addressed the participants and highlighted the importance of strong governance, strategic leadership, and the adoption of emerging technologies to enhance the competitiveness and performance of CPSEs.
The programme featured eminent speakers and domain experts including Dr. Anup Pujari, Justice Raghvendra Singh Chauhan, Dr. Anil Khandelwal, Mr. Nawshir Mirza, and Dr. Praveen Kumar Tiwari, who shared insights on board leadership, arbitration, financial oversight, corporate governance, and audit effectiveness. The programme saw enthusiastic participation and insightful discussions throughout the sessions.

Shri K. Moses Chalai, Secretary, DPE, presented Certificates and Cash prizes today to the winners of a quiz competition organised to promote awareness on the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. The quiz was participated in great enthusiasm by Officials and Staff of DPE and National Land Monetization Corporation (NLMC).

DPE organised a Samuhik Charcha on 8 April 2026 under National Learning Week: Saptah. Senior officials deliberated on “What Should DPE Stop, Start, and Continue?”, highlighting the need to reduce procedural redundancies, simplify processes, strengthen data-driven decision-making, enhance inter-divisional coordination, and continue the focus on transparency and stakeholder engagement.

Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) organized the second Half-day Familiarisation Workshop on Corporate Social Responsibility Monitoring System (CSRMS) on 09.03.2026 for CPSEs based in South and West States of India at HAL Management Academy, Bangalore. A total of 52 officers including the CSR Nodal Officers from 34 CPSEs participated in the event. Hands-on exercise for uploading CSR related data was done during the workshop.

A two-day National Workshop on “Succession Planning for Board Level Positions” was organised by SCOPE on 9–10 March 2026 at SCOPE Convention Centre, New Delhi for potential Board-level candidates in CPSEs. Shri K. Moses Chalai, Secretary, DPE, addressed the participants and delivered the keynote speech at the Inaugural Session on 9 March 2026, highlighting the importance of building a strong leadership pipeline for a future-ready Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs).

The Department of Public Enterprises organised the 8th CSR Regional Workshop in Patna on 27 February 2026 in collaboration with UNICEF India. The workshop centered on select Aspirational Districts of Bihar and Jharkhand convening delegates from multiple sectors, including senior state officials, District Collectors/District Magistrates, officers from the identified districts, CSR nodal officers from CPSEs, and representatives of Implementing Agencies (IAs).
The session provided a forum for in-depth discussions on CSR approaches in Aspirational Districts, focusing on state priorities and the implementation models used by CPSEs. It also enabled the sharing of best practices and showcased how Implementing Agencies collaborate to address local needs while supporting the districts’ development goals.

Shri K. Moses Chalai, Secretary, DPE, Dr. Vasundhara Upmanyu, Joint Secretary, DPE and Dr. Sumantra Pal, Economic Adviser, DPE visited Engineers India Bhawan at Bhikaji Cama Place, New Delhi and interacted with Engineers India Ltd CMD, Ms Vartika Shukla and other Directors along with the leadership team of EIL on 17th February, 2026.
During the visit, EIL delivered a detailed presentation outlining its significant contribution to shaping India’s hydrocarbon sector through the deployment of indigenous technologies, strong project delivery capabilities and expanding global footprint and its contributions towards building sustainable, resilient, and future-ready energy infrastructure for the nation.
Secretary DPE appreciated the work done by EIL and focused on regular high skilled recruitment and constant alignment with new technologies.

Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) organized the second Half-day Familiarisation Workshop on Corporate Social Responsibility Monitoring System (CSRMS) for CPSEs based in Delhi-NCR and North Indian States at the Auditorium of PMI, NTPC in NOIDA. A total of 101 officers including the CSR Nodal Officers from more than 50 CPSEs participated in the event. Hands-on exercise for uploading CSR related data was done during the workshop.
