In his first interview after being detained, Sumit Goswami said he was angered by what he described as MP Pappu Yadav's actions during a recent public event, alleging that Pappu Yadav, dressed in saffron attire, placed an idol of Lord Ram at the feet of another MP. Goswami said he questioned Pappu Yadav over the incident and, overcome with emotion, threw his slippers at him.

"I was very angry. I could not control myself and threw the slippers at him. I will not deny that," Goswami said, adding that his anger was over what he believed was an insult to Lord Ram. He maintained that he had not gone there with the intention of attacking Pappu Yadav and denied carrying a knife during the incident.

Delhi: Gangster Linked to Neeraj Bawana–Naveen Bali Gang Arrested After Police Encounter in Alipur

A joint team of the Outer North District Special Staff and Alipur Police Station arrested notorious gangster Savinder alias Baba alias Pagal (36) following a police encounter in Delhi's Alipur area.

According to police, the accused opened fire on the police team after being cornered. In retaliatory firing, he sustained a bullet injury to his left leg and was overpowered.

During the exchange of fire, a bullet struck the bulletproof jacket of SI Vishal, saving his life.

Police recovered a pistol, three live cartridges, three empty 7.65 mm cartridge cases, and two empty 9 mm cartridge cases from the accused.

Investigators said Savinder is an active member of the Neeraj Bawana–Naveen Bali gang and was allegedly involved in extorting businessmen and property dealers in the Alipur and Narela areas.

He is facing six criminal cases, including murder, attempt to murder, assault, and offences under the Arms Act. The accused is currently undergoing treatment, while further investigation is underway.

CBI Makes Major Breakthrough in Chandranath Rath Murder Case; Two Brothers Arrested

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has achieved a major breakthrough in the Chandranath Rath murder case in West Bengal.

The agency arrested two brothers, Saheb Sonkar and Sagar Sonkar, last night.

Both accused have been remanded to seven days of CBI custody.

According to sources, the two were part of Chandranath Rath's team and are accused of providing logistical support, weapons, and other assistance in the conspiracy.

With these arrests, a total of 11 persons have been arrested in the case so far.
