BHEL participated in the Roadshow to Promote Surface Coal/Lignite Gasification organised under the aegis of Ministry of Coal, Government of India on 28th May 2026 at New Delhi.
BHEL showcased its capabilities and technological prowess in the field of Coal Gasification. Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Hon’ble Union Minister of Coal & Mines and Shri Satish Chandra Dubey, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Coal & Mines, visited BHEL’s stall at the event and interacted with the BHEL Team.
Notably, BHEL is a pioneer in the development of indigenous coal gasification technology (PFBG) and has successfully gasified high-ash Indian coals.

The indigenously designed 500 MWe Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor (PFBR) at Kalpakkam has achieved First Criticality, marking a defining leap in India's civil nuclear journey.

BHEL enters into a Technology Collaboration Agreement with E2S Company Limited, Republic of Korea, for Excitation System for Synchronous Machines
BHEL has entered into a Technology Collaboration Agreement (TCA) with E2S Company Limited, Republic of Korea (E2S) for static & brushless excitation systems for synchronous machines in India and in overseas territories as per agreed terms.
The agreement was signed by Mr. S. M. Ramanathan, Director (Engineering, Research & Development), BHEL and Mr. Woosik CHOI, CEO, E2S in the presence of senior officials from BHEL and E2S.
For more than 30 years, E2S has been successfully supplying static and brushless excitation control system for various types of synchronous machines used in Thermal, Gas, Hydro and Nuclear power plants.
This collaboration marks a significant step in bolstering BHEL’s technology portfolio and consolidate BHEL’s position as a leading provider of power plant equipment and systems. BHEL will gain access to advanced engineering know-how, design tools and global best practices in excitation system technology with an opportunity for localization of critical components, domestic manufacturing and supporting the Government of India’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative. It reinforces BHEL’s commitment to delivering world-class, reliable and efficient solutions to our customers while enhancing indigenous capabilities.
