Hon’ble Chief Minister Shriman Prem Singh Tamang-Golay Visits Landslide-Affected Rimbi Village, Extends Assistance to Affected Families !!!
Hon’ble Chief Minister Shriman Prem Singh Tamang-Golay today visited landslide-affected Rimbi village under the Yuksom–Tashiding Constituency to assess the situation and meet families affected by the recent landslide. The Hon’ble Minister-cum-Area MLA Shri Tshering T. Bhutia was also present during the visit.
While expressing relief that no lives were lost, the Hon'ble Chief Minister expressed concern over the damage to homes and properties and the hardships faced by the affected families.
As immediate relief, financial assistance through cheques and cash under the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) was provided to affected families in accordance with prescribed norms and the extent of damage. Land allotment orders were also distributed under the Sikkim Garib Aawas Yojana (SGAY), with arrangements for house construction for families who lost their homes.
The Hon'ble Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the affected families and ensuring their safe rehabilitation. He also expressed gratitude to government officials, NGOs, individuals, and members of various political parties for their solidarity and collective efforts in extending assistance to the people of Rimbi.
The safety, dignity, and well-being of the affected families remain a priority as efforts continue towards their rehabilitation and recovery.
