A WGPD team from Gorchuk PS busted a gang of dacoits with the arrest of Bandhuram Basumatary (43) of New Bongaigaon, Janak Basumatary (36) of Kokrajhar & Manu Basumatary (40) of Gogamukh.
One .32 pistol with 14 live rounds, 2 magazines, 2 Khukris, 3 mobiles, 1 wire cutter, 1 monkey cap, 5 black T shirts, 1 black hat, & 3 bags.

An EGPD team from Basistha PS successfully traced and recovered four missing minor girls within 24 hours after they had left their homes together on 01/06/2026 and failed to return.
Acting swiftly on a complaint by guardians, the team launched an intensive search operation.
With support from West Bengal Police, all four girls were traced and recovered safely from Howrah, West Bengal.
A Basistha PS team is in Howrah to complete the necessary legal formalities and ensure the safe return of the recovered minors to their families.

Acting on intel, a WGPD team from Fatasil Ambari PS intercepted two cars (AS01GP7108 & AS01EW4767) at Ambari Tiniali and 12 stolen goats were recovered.
Four thieves — Afridi Ansari (29) of Fatasil Ambari, Irfan Ahmed (29) of Gorchuk, Ajgar Ali (42) of Gorchuk & Sanjib Basfor (24) of Tezpur — were arrested.
Legal action initiated.

A CGPD team led by ADCP (Central), with personnel from Pan Bazar PS, busted an illegal IPL Final Match betting racket during a raid at Karuna Apartment, Fancy Bazar.
The following have been arrested:
• Alok Jain (Fancy Bazar)
• Sunil Bhakar (Rajasthan)
• Basant Kumar (Rajasthan)
• Satto Ram (Bihar)
• Kamal Upadhyaya (Rehabari)
• Bikas Gupta (Manipuri Basti)
• Amit Kumar Jha (Athgaon)
• Lal Saheb Mahato (Bihar)
Seizures include:
• 16 mobile phones
• 2 laptops
• 2 computer systems
• Betting records
• 2 boxes containing gambling chips
• Bank passbooks and ATM/debit cards
• Cash
• Walkie-talkie communication devices
• One pistol with live ammunition
• Other incriminating documents and articles linked to the betting operation
Further probe is on. Legal action initiated.

The operation led to the recovery of 3 soap boxes containing 26 grams of he**in. Police also seized a mobile phone and a Scooty (AS01GJ3661).

An EGPD team from Dispur PS cracked a theft case with the arrest of Biswajit Basfor of Bhabanipur.
Acting on his disclosure, the team conducted a raid at a dump site in Basistha, leading to the apprehension of two more accused — Jahidul Islam and Dhanjit Nath, both from Mukalmua.
The stolen articles were recovered from their possession.

An EGPD team from Basistha PS apprehended two burglars — Md. Sahjahan Ali alias Saru (22) of Sipajhar and Mafijul Hoque alias Moinul (31) of Gauripur — and recovered stolen valuables linked to a burglary reported from Sanjogi Byelane in Sixmile.
Recovered items include:
🔹 1 stolen LAVA 5G mobile handset
🔹 2 stolen realme Android mobile handsets
🔹 2 suspected gold chains with lockets
🔹 1 suspected gold ring
🔹 5 pairs of suspected gold earrings
During sustained probe, both accused confessed to the crime and multiple other theft instances in Guwahati
