Cotton University proudly celebrated the Independence Day on 15th August with patriotic fervor. The event witnessed the active participation of the NCC cadets. The celebrations were graced by the esteemed Vice Chancellor, who hoisted the National Flag and addressed the gathering, inspiring students and faculty alike. 🇮🇳

Our Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Ramesh Chandra Deka was formally conferred the prestigious rank of 'Honorary Colonel' and appointed as 'Colonel Commandant' in the National Cadet Corps (NCC) during a grand Rank Pipping Ceremony on 20th June 2025 at KBR Hall, Cotton University. He is the only Vice Chancellor in the North Eastern Region (NER) to receive this distinction in 2025, a testament to his unwavering support for youth development and NCC initiatives. 🌟
The ceremony was graced by Brig Ajit Kumar Borah, VSM, Group Commander, NCC HQ, Guwahati; Col Ajay Kumar Sharma, Commanding Officer, 60 Assam Girls BN NCC; Wg Cdr Huvey Upadhyaya, SC, Commanding Officer, 50 Assam Air Squadron NCC.

A Proud moment to every cottonian and to all the cadets of 50Assam Air sqn NCC.

Former student of Cotton university (2018-21) and a alumuni of 50 Assam Air sqn (flag) NCC - Flight Lieutenant Nepo Moirangthem from Manipur will be at the forefront of the Indian Air Force parade at Kartavya Path in New Delhi on this Republic Day 2025.

The IAF marching contingent comprises four officers (one Contingent Commander and three supernumerary officers) and 144 airmen. The Contingent Commander will be Squadron Leader Ma-hender Singh with Flight Lieutenant (Flt Lt) Damini Deshmukh, FIt Lt Nepo Moirangthem, and Flying Officer Abhinay Ghosh as supernumerary officers.

Visit of ADG Major General Gagan Deep North East Region Directorate (NER Dte), India to meet Vice Chancellor of Cotton University Proff. Ramesh Chandra Deka to discuss about the collaboration of NCC with Cotton University to organise Social responsibility activities. The program was held inpresence of Group Commander of Guwahati Group NCC: Brig. Diner Dighe, Commanding Officer of 60 ASSAM BN NCC: Col. Ajay Sharma and Commanding Officer of 50 ASSAM AIR (SQ) NCC : Wing Commander Huvey Upadhyay, Shaurya Chakra (50Assam)The Guard of Honour was given by the Cadets of 60 ASSAM BN NCC , Piloting was done by the Cadets of 60 ASSAM BN NCC. This was officially held in presence of total 35 NCC cadets from Cotton University.The initiative was taken by 60 ASSAM BN NCC under the Guidance of NCC In-charge Assist Professor Jyotimala Doley, Dept. of Geography, Cotton University. 2nd year and 3rd year cadets of Cotton University NCC recently appeared for the B-cert and C-cert examination. Hoping for them to pass the examination with flying colours.

RANK CEREMONY 2024. Indeed a big day for all the NCC cadets of Cotton University. 11 cadets of the Army wing were promoted to higher ranks marking their hardwork and dedication towards NCC.
