A lot of activities took place in the department yesterday. The new extension building of the department, constructed at the old workshop cite, was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of GU. Also we had a friendly cricket match between the students and the teachers of the department. There was nothing unusual as far the result of the match is concerned- as usually students won by a huge margin. The match is organized by the Physical Society, GU. Sharing a few glimpses of both the events.

Just like most other activities, science education and research, all across the globe, have also grossly been affected by the latest pandemic. Educators and policymakers are at a loss and almost clueless about any possible imminent solution, particularly about the experimental aspect of science education and research. As the incumbent Head of my Department, I was also totally preoccupied with this thought and worried about the deserted look of our laboratories. Physics education, without laboratory activities, is certainly incomplete and undesirable too. The department of Physics, GU has therefore decided to organize this webinar. Both invited speakers are eminent scientists, educationists, and policymakers of our country. I am sure that this webinar will be a pathfinder for a possible solution of the current dead-lock situation.
All are invited.
