Today, we are filled with immense pride as we celebrate a historic milestone for Gauhati University NCC!

Our very own 𝐃𝐫. 𝐇𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐊𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐫 𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, has become the FIRST Associate NCC Officer (ANO) from Gauhati University to be commissioned as a Flying Officer in the prestigious NCC Air Wing, Indian Air Force! ✈️🏅
This remarkable achievement, earned through unwavering dedication and excellence, marks a shining moment for the entire GU NCC family and will inspire future generations of cadets.

Dr. Kalita excelled in the rigorous Pre-Commission Training (PRCN), securing an outstanding ‘A’ grade across two phases:
📅 Phase I: Officers Training Academy (OTA), Kamptee (1–20 Sept 2025)
📅 Phase II: Air Force Station (AFS), Tambaram (27 Oct–27 Dec 2025)

The proud culmination was the Pipping Ceremony at AFS Tambaram on 26 December 2025, where he was formally commissioned.
As 𝐅𝐥𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐃𝐫 𝐇𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐊𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐫 𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚 now mentors our cadets, his unique dual role as an academician and commissioned officer perfectly embodies the NCC motto: Unity and Discipline.
